Find a Topic by Entering Search Criteria
You can use different filters to refine your patient education topics search in both internal and external sources. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open Patient Education Browser. Select either Internal or External, and then select the search term. Note: If you select Internal Patient Education in the Procedures or Problems modules, the patient education material that is available for searching, is context-sensitive. If the filter options do not appear, you can increase the size of the window to view the filters. To change the language, select a language from the Language list. Note: The default language is English. To refine your search, select the age range and gender. Note: The Patient Education Browser window selects the age and gender by default based on the selected patient's demographics. You can change the age and gender. In Search Criteria, enter the text according to the set criteria. If you select ICD Code, you must enter an ICD code. If you select Title or Terms & Title for t

Print Patient Education Topics for Patients
You can print patient education topics to give to patients. Additionally, you have options to save patient education topics to the encounter and send them to the NextGen® PxP Portal when you print. Open a patient and create a new encounter or select an unlocked one. Open Patient Education Browser. Do one of the following: Browse for a topic and select it. Find a topic by entering search criteria find a topic by entering search criteria. Find a topic with Recommended Search. Add topics to the shopping cart add topics to the shopping cart. Do one of the following: In the Selected Documents list, select the check boxes for the topics you want to print. To select all the documents in the Selected Documents list, select the Print check box. Select Print, and then select one of the following: To print the selected document, select Print. Toggle Between Healthwise Patient Education and Knowledgebase
When you have a topic open in the Patient Education Browser window, you can select Knowledgebase to view more information on the topic. The Knowledgebase displays search results based on a reference code associated with the Healthwise Patient Education search. The Healthwise Knowledgebase is an online health resource and encyclopedia providing information about medical conditions, symptoms, and treatments. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you add the Healthwise website to the list of trusted sites in the Microsoft® Internet Explorer to view the Knowledgebase search results. For information about adding websites to the list of trusted sites, see the Microsoft Internet Explorer Help. Open Patient Education Browser. Search for a topic either manually or by using the Search pane. Select the desired search result. The patient education topic appears in the display pane. With Healthwise Patient Education installed in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can perform the following: Access Patient Education Browser to search for internal and external patient education material. Perform context-sensitive searches of Healthwise Patient Education and practice defined patient education material in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Access Healthwise Knowledgebase through the internal browser. Save patient education material to a patient's chart or a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. Delete the saved patient education documents on an unlocked encounter in the Encounter History. The Healthwise Patient Education Module is a third-party software package used in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. This module enables you to access educational material that covers a variety of health topics that you can print and hand over to patients. Edit Patient Education Documents
The Patient Education grid in the Today's Orders panel displays the patient education documents that are added to a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Today’s Orders panel. Select Patient Education To edit patient education documents, select Patient Education. The Patient Education Browser window opens. Note: You can use the browser to add or edit the list of patient education documents.
