Unmatching eRx Refill Requests

If information from the issuing pharmacy does not match the data stored in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR database, a separate task is added to your task list on the Workflow window, in the Clinical Tasking tab. This task includes the current unmatched refill request. Workflow You can manually match patient demographics, medication, and prescription information, using the Refill Request Patient Matching window. You can also remove an unmatched eRx refill request task. Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Refill Requests

When you electronically submit patient medication prescriptions to a pharmacy, you may receive a refill request from that pharmacy. These refill requests are unsolicited and until you respond to a request, you have no other interaction with the pharmacy that requested the refill. Each refill request creates a task in the Workflow module and the Manage Refills window in the Medications module. NextGen® Enterprise EHR evaluates the status of the medication in the patient's chart. If the request can be matched to an existing patient, the information appears with the option to approve or deny the request. Match Prescription Information on eRx Refill Requests

From the Refill Request Patient Matching window, you can match a prescription and add it to the patient's chart. Note: You must have prescribing rights to add the unmatched prescription to the patient's chart. Double-click an Unmatched Refill Reqs task, or select an Unmatched Refill Reqs, and then select Open. Working with eRx Refill Requests from the Medications Icon

The Manage Refills window displays the patient's demographic information, provider information, pharmacy information, and the refill request details. This information is sent from Surescripts. You can either approve or deny the refill request. After you respond to a Refill Request from the Workflow > Clinical Tasking list, the request is no longer available in the Medications module and the Workflow window. View Refill Requests from the Medications Module You can view new eRx refill requests from the Medications module. Approve an eRx Refill Request from the Manage Refills Window You can approve an eRx refill request using the manage refills window. Deny an eRx Refill Request from the Manage Refills Window You can deny an eRx refill request task and select Denial - New prescription to follow reason from the Manage Refills window.
