Match Prescription Information on eRx Refill Requests

From the Refill Request Patient Matching window, you can match a prescription and add it to the patient's chart.
  1. Double-click an Unmatched Refill Reqs task, or select an Unmatched Refill Reqs, and then select Open.

  2. Select the prescription to match.
    The data included in the refill request opens.

  3. Select Lookup.
    A confirmation message Unmatched Prescription appears to create the medication entry, if does not exist.
  4. To create the medication entry on the patient's chart, do one of the following:
    • Select Yes.
    • Select Create Medication Entry on the Refill Request Patient Matching window.

      The medication is added to the patient's chart. The status of the prescription is changed to Matched and is displayed under Successfully Matched.

  5. When the medication entry is successfully matched, you can perform one of the following:
    • To approve the refill request with only one refill, select Approve Request.
    • To approve the refill request with a user-defined number of refills, select Approve Other, and specify the number of refills.
    • To deny the refill request with a reason, select Deny, Other, and provide the reason you are denying the refill request. If applicable, eRx custom denial reasons are included in the reasons list.

    • To map the prescription information from the refill request to the data available in the NextGen database, select Commit.

      The entry is removed from the Refill Request Patient Matching window.

    A match made between Surescript's pharmacies information included with a refill request and the data stored in the NextGen database applies only to the singular instance of the particular refill request.
