eRx Refill Request Notifications in Encounter History
When you receive an eRx refill request and approve or deny the request, a notification is added to the patient's chart. The Encounter History tab displays the eRx refill notification as an email item. Note: A notification is not added if an unmatched patient entry is denied with a reason of Deny-Unknown Patient. Match Medication Information on eRx Refill Requests
You can look up and match a medication from the Refill Request Patient Matching window. You can add the medication to a patient's chart if it is not prescribed there. Double-click an Unmatched Refill Reqs task, or select Unmatched Refill Reqs, and then select Open. Workflow The Refill Request Patient Matching window opens. Refill Request Patient Matching Select the medication to match. The data included with the refill request opens. Refill Request Patient Matching Select Lookup. The Drug Lookup window opens. Drug Lookup Select a medication, and then select OK. Refill Request Patient Matching Select Match. If the medication is not prescribed in the patient's chart, the confirmation message Unmatched Prescription appears to create a medication entry. To add the medication to the patient's chart, select Yes. If you do not want to create a medication entry, select No. If the medication is present in the patient's chart, or if you add the medication to the patient's chart, the status chang

Working with eRx Refill Requests from the Medications Icon
The Manage Refills window displays the patient's demographic information, provider information, pharmacy information, and the refill request details. This information is sent from Surescripts. You can either approve or deny the refill request. After you respond to a Refill Request from the Workflow > Clinical Tasking list, the request is no longer available in the Medications module and the Workflow window. View Refill Requests from the Medications Module You can view new eRx refill requests from the Medications module. Approve an eRx Refill Request from the Manage Refills Window You can approve an eRx refill request using the manage refills window. Deny an eRx Refill Request from the Manage Refills Window You can deny an eRx refill request task and select Denial - New prescription to follow reason from the Manage Refills window. Match Prescription Information on eRx Refill Requests
From the Refill Request Patient Matching window, you can match a prescription and add it to the patient's chart. Note: You must have prescribing rights to add the unmatched prescription to the patient's chart. Double-click an Unmatched Refill Reqs task, or select an Unmatched Refill Reqs, and then select Open. Workfow The Refill Request Patient Matching window opens. Refill Request Patient Matching Select the prescription to match. The data included in the refill request opens. Refill Request Patient Matching Select Lookup. A confirmation message Unmatched Prescription appears to create the medication entry, if does not exist. To create the medication entry on the patient's chart, do one of the following: Select Yes. Select Create Medication Entry on the Refill Request Patient Matching window. Refill Request Patient Matching Window
The Refill Request Patient Matching window handles the status of the refill request based on the person_id and NDC. The status is determined when opening the window using the following logic: Status Person ID NDC Unmatched Prescription X X Unmatched Medication X Unmatched Patient X Refill Request Patient Matching The availability of the Refill Request Patient Matching window is based on the Unmatched Refill Request Provider Medication practice preference: All Providers. The Filter By displays all providers, and the list shows all unmatched refill requests for all providers. Current Provider. The Filter By displays the current provider name, and the list shows all unmatched refill requests for the current provider. Assigned Provider. Match Patient Demographics on eRx Refill Requests
When you receive an eRx refill request and NextGen® Enterprise EHR is unable to match the name of the patient with a patient in the database, the refill request task is listed with the Unmatched Refill Reqs subject. The Refill Request Patient Matching window enables you to create a patient match based on the patient demographics information in the request data and the data of the corresponding patient. If the patient is not available in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR database, or if you cannot find a close match, you can deny the refill request without matching the data. Double-click an Unmatched Refill Reqs task, or select Unmatched Refill Reqs , and then select Open. Workflow The Refill Request Patient Matching window opens. Refill Request Patient Matching Select the patient to match. The patient data included in the refill request opens. Refill Request Patient Matching Select Lookup. The Patient Lookup window opens. Patient Lookup Search for and select the closest available match. The
