Managing Programs, COT, and Treatment Adherence Information

You can select a Level of Care that is set up in the BH Foundation DBPicklist. This data is not used anywhere else in NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. The Program field on the tis_programs_hx window retrieves data from the Program Master File in File Maintenance. After a patient is enrolled in one or more programs, the programs are listed in the Program name field throughout the NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite template set. Your practice can also use the program information for reporting and billing purposes. Note: You can configure programs in File Maintenance > Master File before using the Demographics (BH) template. Access General Information for Patients

Open the Demographics (BH) template and expand the General panel. Enter a value in Other ID. To view past and future scheduled appointments, select View Appointment. Optional: To create account numbers for different facilities, select Acct Numbers. Optional: To print a document on the patient's face sheet, select Print Facesheet. Optional: If the patient is deceased, select from Category and Diagnosis for the cause of death. Note: You can configure the Category and the Diagnosis fields on the Dx Groups Reference Systems template. Add or Modify a Patient's Program

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select Open Template for an encounter.The Select Template window opens. Select the Demographics tab. Select All, and then select Demographics (BH).The Demographics (BH) template opens. In the Programs section under the Programs/COT/Treatment Adherence panel, select Level of Care, and then select an option from the list. Do one of the following: To add a program, select Add. To modify a program, select the program in the Programs grid and then select Update. To add additional programs, select Clear For Add. The tis_programs_hx window opens. Programs HX window Enter program, location, provider, open date, time, and payer information. If the patient has more than one payer, add each one. Note: You must complete the Program, Location, Open Date, and Payer fields before saving a program. Select Save. Document the PCP Communication Details

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select PCP Communication (BH), and then select OK. Select the program, specialty, and visit type. Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later. In the Reason for Communication panel, document the reasons for the patient's communication with the PCP. In the Vital Signs panel, document the patient's vital signs such as height, weight, body temperature, blood pressure, respiration, and pain level. In the Allergies panel, review and update the patient's allergy details. In the Medications panel, review, update, and reconcile the patient's medications.
