Viewing Patient Demographics Information

The Demographics tab in Patient Information is the default tab that appears on the patient chart displaying demographics, patient status and client-defined information for the patient. You can select Who/When button to view the Created By and Last Modified By information. The demographics information consists of gender identity, preferred pronoun, current gender, sexual orientation, veteran status, and pharmacy information. The fields that appear for demographic information depend on the selections made on the Enterprise Preferences Client Defined tab and/or the Practice Preferences of the Chart window. You can create the Patient Expired label on an expired patient's chart by selecting the Expired check box and entering the expired date on the Demographics tab in the Add Person Information or Modify Person Information window For more information on adding or modifying patient demographic information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Patient Demographics Guide

Viewing Patient Chart Details

In the Chart Details tab of Patient Information, you can view practice-related information of the patient, such as the patient's provider, medical recorder number, and privacy notice information. You can view additional patient information in eight user-defined fields set up in practice preferences. Managing the Patient Information Bar

You can view the Patient Information Bar in the maximized or minimized state. The Patient Information Bar appears in the maximized or expanded view by default, displaying all the configured patient information. Patient Information Bar Buttons Names Function Mininize View less patient information on the Patient Information Bar. Note: Only the top and bottom lines of the Patient Information Bar appear in the minimized view. Maximize Return to the expanded view Note: The last view you selected is retained and displayed the next time you log on. Refresh Refresh the Patient Information Bar. Adding Person or Patient Details

To add a patient, you must first enter data for all mandatory fields of the complete the required fields on each tab of the Add Patient Information or Add Person Information window, and then for other fields required by your practice. A system administrator can configure the mandatory fields in Enterprise Preferences and Practice Preferences in File Maintenance. The Add Patient Information or Add Person Information window contains the following tabs: Demographics UDS Status - complete the practice and enterprise required fields Client Defined Provider Relations/Role Ext Pharmacy Chart Details After you enter data in the mandatory fields, you can save the information. The following patient demographic information appears on the Patient Information Bar in NextGen® Enterprise PM: Sex Note: Sex is abbreviated. You can hover over the abbreviation to view the full description. Date of Birth Age Note: In case of expired patients, (Deceased) appears instead of age. Person Number Medical Record Number (MRN) Other ID Number Other ID Number is based on the details in the External tab of the Modify Patient Information. Open the Patient Information Bar in the Patient Chart

Before you begin You must set the Practice and user preferences, to enable the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart. For more information on the patient chart, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Accounts and Patient Records User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise PM. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Chart . The Patient Lookup window opens. Search for and select the patient using the available search criteria. The patient chart opens displaying the Patient Information Bar, where you can exclusively select Patient Chart Lookup and Open Menu to search for patients, set an active patient, and manage the NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment.
