Privacy Consent

Consent status can be configured on up to three different levels: An enterprise policy applies to the combination of a single enterprise and a single external system. This policy provides the consent default for all patients of that enterprise when their data is being shared with that external system. Each enterprise policy can include practice overrides that establish a different consent default for a given practice. Each patient can optionally have a patient override that takes precedence over both the enterprise consent default and the practice default. Note: The practice default takes precedence over the enterprise default, and the patient override takes precedence over both enterprise and practice defaults. WhenEnterprise Chartis enabled for the enterprise, and the patient is configured as an enterprise patient, any practice overrides are ignored. Viewing Patient Demographics Information

The Demographics tab in Patient Information is the default tab that appears on the patient chart displaying demographics, patient status and client-defined information for the patient. You can select Who/When button to view the Created By and Last Modified By information. The demographics information consists of gender identity, preferred pronoun, current gender, sexual orientation, veteran status, and pharmacy information. The fields that appear for demographic information depend on the selections made on the Enterprise Preferences Client Defined tab and/or the Practice Preferences of the Chart window. Configuring the Patient Preferred Name on Correspondence

You can configure a patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM to display the preferred name of the patient by selecting the Use Preferred Name on Correspondence check-box on the Chart Details window. The preferred name is appears for the following: Standard statement Budget statement Itemized statement Detailed statement Summary statement NextGen® Background Business Processor statement Statement run report Budget statement report Fee tickets Patient data sheet and patient data sheet detail Addressee header of the budget letter, demand encounter letter, and demand account letter. Set up Patient Co-Management Information

When a patient is co-managed by two physicians within the enterprise, you can add the name of the co-managing physician in the patient chart. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup Chart Lookup icon. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Under Patient Information, select the Chart Details tab, and then select open folder Open Folder Icon. The Chart Details window opens. Select Co-Managed Patient. Record the Patient Marketing Plans

You can record the marketing plan that brought your practice to the attention of the patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup Chart Lookup icon. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Under Patient Information, select Chart Details, and then select open folder Open Folder icon. The Chart Details window opens. From the Marketing Plan list, select a marketing plan to attach to the patient. Note: Marketing plans are set up for the practice in the Marketing Plans master file in File Maintenance. Managing Patient Information in charts

The Patient Information tab in the patient chart displays information entered in the Add Patient window. You can use the Patient Information tab for the following: Checking if the patient is a veteran, smoker, or deceased. Adding or viewing the patient's picture. Printing a demand statement from the patient chart. Finding the NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment status. Viewing the demographics, relationships, chart details, providers, case management, and rental information for the selected patient. Viewing Patient Demographics Information You can view demographics, patient status, and client-defined information for the patient in the Demographics tab under Patient Information on the patient chart.
