Exclude Encounter Charges from Outsourcing

Before you begin You must turn on the Outsourcing option in File maintenance Practice Preferences. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Chart Details tab, and then select the open folder icon. In the Chart Details window, select the Exempt from Outsourcing checkbox, and then select OK. The encounter charges are excluded from outsourcing. Parent topic: Create a Patient Chart

View Outsourced Charges from the Patient Chart

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter search criteria to search the desired patient. Select Find. All existing persons and patients that match the entered search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select Matching Records, and then double-click to open the patient. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Financial tab. Select the encounter, and then double-click the encounter you want to view. Viewing Patient Chart Details

In the Chart Details tab of Patient Information, you can view practice-related information of the patient, such as the patient's provider, medical recorder number, and privacy notice information. You can view additional patient information in eight user-defined fields set up in practice preferences. Outsource Charges

To outsource a charge, ensure to enable outsourcing in the Practice Preferences window by selecting Enable outsourcing on the General Preference List. Outsourcing charges remove the outstanding balances from the accounts receivable by the practice. Note: The application does not provide the option to outsource charges for encounters with a Bad Debt status. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens.
