Managing Patient Information in charts

The Patient Information tab in the patient chart displays information entered in the Add Patient window. You can use the Patient Information tab for the following: Checking if the patient is a veteran, smoker, or deceased. Adding or viewing the patient's picture. Printing a demand statement from the patient chart. Finding the NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment status. Viewing the demographics, relationships, chart details, providers, case management, and rental information for the selected patient. Viewing Patient Demographics Information You can view demographics, patient status, and client-defined information for the patient in the Demographics tab under Patient Information on the patient chart. Adding Patient Relationships, Contact, or Guarantor Information You can use the patient relationships or contact or guarantor information to add or modify relationships of the patient. Programs Practice Preferences

The Programs practice preference allows you to enable or disable program-related functionality for the practice. When you select the Enable Programs check box, you can enable Programs in NextGen® Enterprise PM, and the following functionalities are available: On the Patient Information tab in Patient Chart, the Programs sub-tab appears. The sub-tab is used to enroll patients in one or more programs. On the General tab of the Encounter Maintenance window, the Program field appears. The field is used to link encounters to a program. On the General sub-tab of the Encounters tab in Patient Chart, the Program name is displayed for encounters linked to a program. You must select the Required Encounter Level Programs check box to make the program mandatory for the encounter for specific locations in encounter maintenance. In the Limit to Valid Locations field, you must select the locations for which the program is required. For information on setting a program to be required for an encounter

Modify a Program Enrollment

You can modify a patient's program enrollment if needed from the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Access the Patient Chart. Select the Patient Information tab, and then the Programs sub-tab. Existing program enrollments for the patient are listed. To modify a program enrollment, select it from the list and then do one of the following: Select Open Menu and then select Open. Right-click and then select Open. Double-click to open the enrollment. The [Patient Name] - Program Enrollment window opens. The Program Category, Program and Program Enrollment Date fields are disabled and cannot be modified. Program Enrollment window In the Program Primary Provider field, select the provider responsible for directing and managing the patient's program, if applicable. The primary provider may or may not render services under the program. In the Program Location field, select a location for the program. This may be used for clinical purposes in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and is informational on

Hide a Program

You can hide a program in File Maintenance. When hidden, the program is not available for selection in NextGen® Enterprise PM. For example, if your practice has discontinued their participation in a program, you can hide the program to prevent users from enrolling patients and linking encounters to the program. When you hide a program, all existing patient enrollments and encounter associations are retained and are available for reporting in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Access File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then Programs. The Programs List window opens. From the list, select a program to hide and then do one of the following: Select Open Menu and then select Hide. Right-click and then select Hide. Double-click to open the program, then select the Hide check box, and then select OK. A prompt appears asking you to confirm hiding the program. To confirm the hide, select Yes. Managing Programs, COT, and Treatment Adherence Information

You can select a Level of Care that is set up in the BH Foundation DBPicklist. This data is not used anywhere else in NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. The Program field on the tis_programs_hx window retrieves data from the Program Master File in File Maintenance. After a patient is enrolled in one or more programs, the programs are listed in the Program name field throughout the NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite template set. Your practice can also use the program information for reporting and billing purposes. Note: You can configure programs in File Maintenance > Master File before using the Demographics (BH) template.
