Add or Modify a Program

Open File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then Programs. The Programs List window opens. Do one of the following: To create a program, select open menu and select New. The Add Program Information window opens. To modify a program, select the program from the list, and then select open menu and select Open. The Modify Program Information window opens. Complete program parameters as needed on the following tabs: System Practice Clinical Do one of the following: To save changes and close the window, select OK. To save changes and add another program, select Next. Note: The Next button appears on the Add Program Information window, but not on the Modify Program Information window. Assign Practice Access to a Program

The Programs master file is a system-level table. Therefore, all programs can potentially be accessed by any practice in any enterprise. If your enterprise includes multiple practices, you can use the Practice Access option to define which practices have access to each program. For example, Practice A and Practice B both provide services under Program XYZ, but Practice C does not. Therefore, only Practices A and B should have access to Program XYZ. Note: Multiple practices with access to the same program share all system-level parameters defined on the program System and Clinical tabs. Each practice can define their own practice-level parameters on the program Practice tab. Access File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then Programs. Hide a Program

You can hide a program in File Maintenance. When hidden, the program is not available for selection in NextGen® Enterprise PM. For example, if your practice has discontinued their participation in a program, you can hide the program to prevent users from enrolling patients and linking encounters to the program. When you hide a program, all existing patient enrollments and encounter associations are retained and are available for reporting in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Access File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then Programs. The Programs List window opens. From the list, select a program to hide and then do one of the following: Select Open Menu and then select Hide. Right-click and then select Hide. Double-click to open the program, then select the Hide check box, and then select OK. A prompt appears asking you to confirm hiding the program. To confirm the hide, select Yes. View Hidden Programs

By default, hidden programs do not display on the Programs List window in File Maintenance. However, you can select to display hidden programs, if needed. Access File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then Programs. The Programs List window opens. To view hidden programs, select the Include Hidden Items check box. Hidden programs appear in the list with a Hide icon on the left. To remove hidden programs from the view, deselect the Include Hidden Items check box. Hidden programs are removed from the list. Unhide a Program

You can unhide a program, if needed. For example, a program was hidden in error. Access File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then Programs. The Programs List window opens. Select the Include Hidden Items check box. From the list, select a program to unhide and then do one of the following: Select Open Menu and then select Un-Hide. Right-click and then select Un-Hide. Hide a Program Enrollment

You can hide a patient's program enrollment if needed from the Patient Chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM. For example, if you enrolled the patient in the wrong program, you can hide the enrollment to prevent users from linking that program to encounters. When a program enrollment has been hidden, that program is not available for selection on encounters for the patient. If a program enrollment is hidden after the program was linked to one or more patient encounters, the program remains linked to those encounters for reporting purposes. Note: NextGen® Enterprise PM removes it from the BH-Program Enrollment template in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Access the Patient Chart. Select the Patient Information tab, and then the Programs sub-tab. Existing program enrollments for the patient are listed.
