Group Encounters
A Group Encounter is a way to create encounters for all members in a patient group at the same time. For example, a group appointment was scheduled for a patient group on Wednesday at 11:00 AM for a counseling session. Rather than creating a separate encounter for each patient at check-in, a single group encounter can be created for the patient group prior to check-in.
When a group encounter is created, an individual encounter is created for each member in the patient group, and all encounters have the same Billable Date, Service Location and Rendering Provider. Each encounter is assigned a unique Encounter Number and all encounters are associated with the same Group Encounter ID in the database.
