Scheduling Group Appointments

You can schedule a single appointment for patients within a patient group. For example, to schedule a counseling session for a patient group on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, you can schedule a single group appointment, rather than scheduling separate appointments for each patient for the same slot.

When you schedule and save a group appointment, an individual appointment is created for each patient in the group, and all appointments are displayed in the same time slot in the appointment book. Each individual appointment has a unique appointment ID and a common Group appointment ID in the database.

You can also create group appointment shells and manage them. A group appointment shell is a group appointment with no associated member appointments. You can do the following operations for a group appointment shell:
  • Add
  • Open
  • Delete
  • Mark as canceled
  • View group appointment information
  • You can include a non-member as a part of group appointments scheduled for the patient group.You can add a member to a previous group appointment.You can add a member to a previous Group Encounter from Patient Group window.
  • Modify a Group Appointment You can modify a group appointment, and any changes will automatically update the associated individual member appointments.
  • Modify an Individual Appointment Created from a Group Appointment You can modify an individual appointment created from a group appointment without affecting other patients in the group.
  • Recurring Group Appointments
  • You can delete a group appointment and its associated member appointments. If the group appointment you want to delete is a recurring series, you can select and delete individual member appointments.
