Lookup Encounters by Patient Group

You can use the Encounter Lookup window to search for encounters for patients in a specific patient group.

  1. To access the Encounter Lookup window, do one of the following:
    • From the main toolbar, select Encounter.
    • From the Tasks menu, select Lookup and then Encounters.
    The Encounter Lookup window opens.
  2. Enter appointment lookup search criteria to find the desired encounters. Multiple parameters can be used. For example, select a Bill Status, Billable Date Range, Rendering Physician, and Service Location.
  3. In the Patient Group field, do one of the following to further limit the search results to include only encounters for patients in a specific group:
    • Select a group name from the drop-down list.
    • Select the flashlight button to use the Patient Group Search window to search and select a group name.
  4. Select Find.
    Encounters that match all search criteria entered display in the Encounter List section at the bottom of the window.

    Total Encounter Balances displays the total outstanding balance for all encounters listed.

    Records Found displays the total number of encounters listed.

  5. To view the patient group associated with each encounter in the list, right-click any column header and select Patient Group from the list of available columns.
    The Patient Group column is added to the Encounter List view.
  6. From the Encounter List, do one of the following:
    • Double-click to select an encounter.
    • The Patient Chart > Encounters tab opens. The selected encounter is highlighted in the Encounters list on the left.
    • Right-click an encounter and select Open from the menu.

      The Encounter Maintenance window opens.

    • Select one or more encounters on the left, and then right-click and select an action from the menu.
