Create On-demand Statements

Before you begin

Before generating a statement for a patient encounter, you must add charges to the encounter and then bill it. If a patient has insurance, you must post and process the insurance payments.
When all insurance is processed, any remaining balance becomes the patient's responsibility. For more information about statements, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Billing and Collections User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM .
  1. from NextGen® Enterprise PM, open a patient encounter.
  2. Select the Stmts statements button.
  3. On the General tab, select Update Last Statements Dates.

  4. Optional: To review the statements, select Preview.
    The generated statements open in a new window.
  5. To generate the on-demand statement, select Print, and then select Yes in the confirmation message.
  6. In the Statement Run Report window, select the Close Preview button to return to the Patient Statement window.
    Email notifications are sent to the enrolled patients informing that a statement is in their NextGen® PxP Portal Web accounts. Patients can then log on to their NextGen® PxP Portal accounts and view and/or pay their bills.
