Create Statements in Batch Mode

Before you begin Before generating a statement for a patient encounter, you must add charges to the encounter and then bill it. If a patient has insurance, you must post and process the insurance payments. When all insurance is processed, any remaining balance becomes the patient's responsibility. For more information about statements, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Billing and Collections User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM . From the NextGen® Enterprise PM File menu, select Print Forms, and select Statements. On the Statement Options window, in the General tab, select Update Last Statements Dates. Optional: To review the statements, select Preview. The generated statements open in a new window. Note: Statements can include encounters that have the History status, as long as a patient balance exists in at least one encounter. If a patient has insurance, you must post and process the insurance payments. When all insurance is processed, any remaining balance becomes the patient's responsibility. Generating Statements

After you create charges and bill encounters, you can generate billing statements in NextGen® Enterprise PM as needed (on demand) or in a batch. NextGen® Enterprise PM generates billing statements as PDF statements and temporarily stores them in the shared network path configured in the System Administrator. For patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, the system transfers the statements to their NextGen® PxP Portal accounts. When patients log on to NextGen® PxP Portal, they can view the statements and make payments. Important: You must configure the shared network path in Universal Preferences of System Administrator to have the generated statements appear on the Statements tab of NextGen® PxP Portal. NextGen Healthcare recommends that you remove the Prefix practice id onto account number option in the Practice Preferences

Pay Bills from NextGen® PxP Portal

Set Up Patient Statement Delivery

You can set electronic statements to be sent to patients through NextGen® PxP Portal. Open Site Generator, and then select NextGen Healthcare Site Administration. The Site Generator page opens. Search for and select your practice. From Administrator - Setup/Access, select Online Solutions > Edit Your Online Solutions.The Manage Your Online Solutions page opens. Select the Activate Solution checkbox next to Online Bill Pay, and then select Confirm Your Changes.The Online Bill Pay option appears on the Site Generator home page under Portal Solutions. From Portal Solutions, select Online Bill Pay > eStatements.The eStatement Configuration page opens. To enable electronic statements for patients, select Enable Statement Delivery. Make changes in Statement Delivery Configuration, and then select Submit. NextGen® PxP Portal Integration Tool Requirements for NextGen Pay powered by InstaMed Agents

You can view the agents relevant to the payment solution under Payments in the Solutions tab on PxP Portal Integration Tool. You can search for the agents on the Agent Configuration tab to view the agent configuration. These agents must be running for the NextGen® Pay and Statement solutions to integrate with NextGen® Enterprise PM.
