Customize Picklists for Radiology Tests

You can create new picklists or update picklist values associated with radiology tests in the Radiology Picklists panel on the Radiology Configuration practice template. On the Radiology Configuration practice template, expand the Radiology Picklists panel. To create a new picklist, do the following: Click the field below the Picklist grid and enter the name of the picklist. Click Add. Radiology Picklists panel on the Radiology Configuration template To add a picklist value, do the following: In the Picklist grid, select the desired picklist. Click the field below the Picklist Values grid, and enter the new value. Click Add. Configurations for Ordering Radiology Tests

You can configure your preferences for ordering different types of radiology tests. You can configure the following preferences for placing orders in the Single Order and Radiology Order templates: Configure radiology general settings for all locations and providers by using the General panel of the Radiology Configuration template. Configure standard radiology tests and bilateral billing requirements by using the corresponding panels of the Radiology Configuration template. Configure view types of each radiology test, radiology categories, and body parts by using the Radiology Picklists panel of the Radiology Configuration template. Note: When configuring radiology categories, you can make the diagnosis-code selection mandatory for placing internal orders, depending on the category of the radiology test. Provider Custom Tests

You can configure a custom list of a provider's most commonly ordered radiology tests in the Provider Custom Tests panel. You can view the providers' custom test list by selecting the My Tests option above the Radiology Tests grid on the Radiology Order template and the Radiology panel of the Single Order template. Note: The Provider Custom Tests list includes the providers Multi-Tests that you configure in the Provider Custom Multi-Tests panel. The provider's custom tests list is separate from the practice-wide list that you configure in the Manage Radiology Tests panel, but both lists are available on the Radiology Order template and the Radiology panel of the Single Order template. You can also copy a providers custom tests list to another provider. Bilateral Billing for Internal Orders

By default, the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite submits two instances of a code for bilateral tests, one for the right side and one for the left side. In the Bilateral Billing for Internal Orders panel, you can configure financial classes and payers that accept a single code with a bilateral modifier on the Radiology Configuration template. Note: The system bills a single bilateral code on the Radiology Order or Single Order template when the following is true: The encounter insurance has been configured as a payer that accepts a bilateral code in the Bilateral Billing for Internal Orders panel. The Performed: Internal Today or Internal Later option is selected. A bilateral test is selected. Note: Financial classes and payers must be set up in File Maintenance before configuring bilateral billing requirements. Manage Radiology Tests

The tests in the Manage Radiology Tests grid on the Radiology Configuration practice template create a list of tests that corresponds to the Standard option above the Radiology Tests grid on the Radiology Order template and the Radiology panel of the Single Order template. The Manage Radiology Tests grid is packaged with an extensive list of radiology codes but they do not appear until you select a value in one of the filter fields above the grid. You can use the Manage Radiology Tests grid to manage and customize the codes to meet your practice's needs. The Manage Radiology Tests panel enables you to do the following: Assign a category and body part to a test Attach picklists to a radiology test Assign a bilateral code and picklist to a radiology test Indicate the laterality for a code The Category and Body Part fields use picklists from the Radiology Picklists panel.
