Enter Surgery Details

Prior to scheduling a surgery, you can enter the details of the surgery such as surgeon, assistant, anesthesiologist, anesthetics, admit type, patient position, and specific equipment. You can enter the details of the surgery such as surgeon, assistant, anesthesiologist, anesthetics, admit type, patient position, and specific equipment in the Surgery Information panel on the Surgery Sched template. Surgery Information panel on the Surgery Scheduling template On the Surgery Sched template, expand the Surgery Information panel. Note: The Surgeon and Location fields are mandatory. By default, the rendering provider on the encounter appears in the Surgeon field. You can update the surgeon name or surgery location by clicking the field and selecting the desired option from the list. Add the surgery details in the fields. Enter any additional information about the procedure in the Procedure Notes field. To add the components required for the surgery, use the Components grid. Enter any notes

Surgery Details of Patients

You can document the surgery diagnosis, procedure codes, and surgery details prior to scheduling the surgery for a patient. You can add diagnoses, surgery details, pre-operative and post-operative procedures, components, and procedure notes in the Surgery Information panel on the Surgery Sched template. The Diagnosis, Procedure, and Surgeon fields are mandatory. Surgery Information panel on the Surgery Scheduling template If the patient has a guardian, you can enter the contact details of the guardian. You can also indicate the following details of the surgery. If the surgery is urgent If the patient needs to call to schedule the surgery If the patient is a minor If the patient has a guardian Add Surgery Diagnoses You can add the surgery diagnoses applicable to the surgery order. Add a Diagnosis

Click the Add-Remove button below the diagnoses grid to launch the Add/Remove Assessments template. Double-click the diagnosis in the Diagnosis grid. Note: If the diagnosis is not in the Diagnosis grid, you can add it using the Add button to launch the Common Assessment template or Problem IT button to launch IMO template. Click Close. Apply the diagnoses to the procedures in the coding grid by doing one of the following: Click the Apply to All button to add all selected diagnoses to all procedures in the bottom grid. Any diagnosis with a check mark will be added to all procedures in the coding grid. To apply a code to a specific procedure, by selecting them (anything with a green check mark), selecting the procedures in the Procedures grid, and clicking Apply Codes. Document Diagnoses and Lab Tests

You can document diagnoses and lab tests, and place orders for pre-operative lab tests. On the Coordinator template, in the Medical Clearance panel, click Lab Order 2. The Lab Order 2 template opens. IORTS Lab Order 2 window To add diagnoses to a lab order, do the following: Click DX Codes. The IORTSLabOrder Dx Sx template opens. Note: The Diagnosis grid on the IORTSLabOrder Dx Sx template displays the orthopedic or medical history of the patient depending on the selection at the top of the grid. You can add, edit, and remove diagnoses on this template. IORTS Lab Order SX DX window In the Diagnosis grid, double-click the diagnosis. The selected diagnosis is added to the grid on the right side. Note: You can add up to four diagnoses to the lab order. If you add a diagnosis by mistake, you can remove it by clicking the corresponding eraser icon. Click Save & Close. The IORTSLabOrder Dx Sx template closes. The diagnoses details are added to the diagnosis grid on the Lab Order 2 template.

Diagnosis/Procedure Information Panel

Procedures and diagnoses pull to the grids in the Diagnosis/Procedure Information panel from the Surgery Sched template. You can add additional procedures and diagnoses to the grids. Procedures and diagnoses entered from the Surgery Sched template cannot be removed, but do not have to be billed for, if not performed. Additional features in this panel include the following: Do not send to Histories– enables you to submit charges for the procedure(s) without sending the procedure(s) to the Orthopedic Surgical History grid. This would prevent providers from tying this procedure to a post-op visit. Submit to History- if you are awaiting sign off, but you want to enter the procedure in the Orthopedic Surgical History grid, click the Submit to History button. This sends the procedure to the Orthopedic Surgical History grid, so providers can tie it to a post-op visit prior to charges being submitted. When ready to submit charges, you can return to this template and click Submit to Superbill.

Add a Surgical Procedure

To open the IORTS Px Xpo template, do one of the following: Under the following grids, click Add: Orthopedic Surgical History grid on the Intake template Surgical History grid on the Intake template Procedures grid on the Surgery Coding template On templates where you are adding procedures to diagnoses/assessments (for example, the Single or Multi Fx template), click the Procedure Codes button. If the Procedure Page field is blank or you want to select a different value, click the Procedure Page field, and select a value from the list and click OK. IORTS Procedure Page window Select a procedure code. If picklists open, make any selections necessary to refine the procedure description: If the IORTS Side picklist opens, select the side or bilateral, or select the blank at the top of the picklist to continue without selecting the side. Select a surgeon from the Surgeon picklist. Enter the date of surgery. Click Cancel if you do not want to enter a surgery date at this time. Procedures gri
