A window opens asking if you want to waste the medication.

Waste a Medication after Saving it to the Grid
Select the medication from the top grid of medications given today. The medication details fields in the panel fill in. Select the Clear button. A query window asks if you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. The MLT Dbpl Waste Reason picklist opens. Select the reason and click OK. The fields clear. The medication is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. To enter a new medication lot number, follow steps under Documenting Medications Administered for an Injection. Waste a Medication
You can use the Injections/Aspirations template to mark a medication as wasted, for any reason. Doing so marks the medication as waste and takes it out of your inventory. You can waste while entering the medication information, or after it has been saved in the Administered Today grid. Waste a Medication While Entering Information
Enter the Source, Medication, Lot Number and Quantity, using manual entry or barcode scanning. Select the Clear button to the right of the medication information fields. A window prompts you to confirm that you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. The MLT RFWpicklist opens with reasons for the waste. Select the reason for waste and click OK. The fields clear and the medication is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. To re-enter medication and administration information for the new medication lot number used, follow the steps under Documenting Dispensed Medications. Waste While Entering Information
Enter the vaccine information using manual entry or barcode scanning. Select Clear All. A query window asks if you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. The MLT RFWpicklist window opens. Select the reason for waste and select OK. The fields clear. The vaccine is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. Waste After Medication Saved to Administered Today Grid
Select the medication from the grid above the panels. The medication information enters the Medication Dispensing panel fields. Select the Clear button to the right of the medication information. The application prompts you to confirm that you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. The MLT RFWpicklist opens. Select the reason for waste and click OK. The fields and the grid entry clear. The medication is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. Document Waste Medications
You can waste medications for any reason from the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. Wasted medications are marked as waste and removed from the inventory. Note: You must select a Sub-location, If sub-locations are turned on for your practice. Open the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, and then do one of the following: To document the right-eye-injection procedure, expand the OD Injection panel. To document the left-eye-injection procedure, expand the OS Injection panel. Injection panel on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template In the Medications section, enter the details of wasted medication. Waste medications on MICS MedAdmin OPH template Select Clear corresponding to the wasted medication. A message opens for you to confirm the medication waste. Select Yes.
