Documenting Vaccine Administration
You can document details of vaccines that need to be administered to a patient. On the MICS Immunizations template, in the Immunization Administration panel, you can document administration details of vaccines that are ordered for the patient. In the Immunization Orders grid, you can view the vaccine entry to verify that an order is placed through the Orders module for the vaccine to be administered. You can document basic information for a vaccine manually or by scanning the bar code. After you enter the basic information, you can either waste the vaccine or add additional information before submitting charges. Waste a Vaccine in the Immunization Orders Grid
You can waste a vaccine even after it is saved to the Immunization Orders grid. On the MICS Immunizations template, expand the Immunization Administration panel. Select one of the following options to view the required order in the Immunization Orders grid. : Today's Orders Prior Pending Orders Select the required vaccine order. The information for the vaccine appear in the fields. Select the Clear All button. A confirmation window opens. Select Yes. The picklist of reasons for waste MLT RFWpicklist opens. Select the reason for waste, and then select OK. The fields get cleared. The vaccine is marked as wasted, and is removed from the inventory. Parent topic: Waste a Vaccine

Waste a Vaccine
You can waste a vaccine for any reason using the MICS Immunizations template. This marks the vaccine as wasted and takes it out of your inventory. You can waste the vaccine: While entering in the vaccine information. After it has been saved in the Immunization Orders grid. Waste a Medication While Entering Information
Enter the Source, Medication, Lot Number and Quantity, using manual entry or barcode scanning. Select the Clear button to the right of the medication information fields. A window prompts you to confirm that you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. The MLT RFWpicklist opens with reasons for the waste. Select the reason for waste and click OK. The fields clear and the medication is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. To re-enter medication and administration information for the new medication lot number used, follow the steps under Documenting Dispensed Medications. Waste a Medication While Entering Medication Information
Enter medication information manually or by scanning the barcode. Select the Clear button. A window opens asking if you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. Note: Clicking No clears out the fields. The MLT Dbpl Waste Reason picklist opens. Select the reason and click OK. The fields clear out and the medication is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. Waste a Medication after Saving it to the Grid
Select the medication from the top grid of medications given today. The medication details fields in the panel fill in. Select the Clear button. A query window asks if you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. The MLT Dbpl Waste Reason picklist opens. Select the reason and click OK. The fields clear. The medication is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. To enter a new medication lot number, follow steps under Documenting Medications Administered for an Injection.
