A query window asks if you want to waste the medication.

Waste a Medication While Entering Medication Information
Enter medication information manually or by scanning the barcode. Select the Clear button. A window opens asking if you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. Note: Clicking No clears out the fields. The MLT Dbpl Waste Reason picklist opens. Select the reason and click OK. The fields clear out and the medication is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. Waste a Medication
You can use the Injections/Aspirations template to mark a medication as wasted, for any reason. Doing so marks the medication as waste and takes it out of your inventory. You can waste while entering the medication information, or after it has been saved in the Administered Today grid. Waste After Medication Saved to Administered Today Grid
Select the medication from the grid above the panels. The medication information enters the Medication Dispensing panel fields. Select the Clear button to the right of the medication information. The application prompts you to confirm that you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. The MLT RFWpicklist opens. Select the reason for waste and click OK. The fields and the grid entry clear. The medication is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. To re-enter medication and administration information for the new medication lot number used, follow the steps under Documenting Dispensed Medications. Waste a Medication While Entering Information
Enter the Source, Medication, Lot Number and Quantity, using manual entry or barcode scanning. Select the Clear button to the right of the medication information fields. A window prompts you to confirm that you want to waste the medication. Select Yes. The MLT RFWpicklist opens with reasons for the waste. Select the reason for waste and click OK. The fields clear and the medication is marked as wasted and removed from inventory. Waste Medications
You can remove a particular quantity of a non-vaccine medication and waste them from the medication inventory. You can use the Inventory Management template to waste medications from the inventory. You can also waste medications from the medical record templates during dispensing or administration. On the Inventory Management template, expand the Medication Inventory panel. Select the Waste option below the medication grid. The fields below the medication grid, except the Qty field, are disabled for editing. The Reason for Waste field and Waste Medication button appear below the medication grid. Filter the medications displayed in the grid for selecting the desired medication. Select the medication to be wasted from the medication grid. The following fields are automatically filled based on the selected medication. Reason for Waste
Use the Reason for Waste grid to add reasons to the picklist for why a medication is being wasted. This picklist opens when you select the Reason for Waste field in the Medication Inventory panel of the Inventory Management template or when you select to waste a medication from the medical record templates. Note: The Reason for Waste field is visible only when the Waste option is selected.
