Check In the Transferred Medications

Medications transferred to a location do not go directly to the location’s inventory. They appear in the grid under the Transfer Information panel from where you can check in the medications to inventory, return the medications to original location, or waste the medications. On the MICS Inventory Management system template, expand the Transfer information panel. Select the required medication from the grid. The received quantity appears in the Quantity Received field. Optional: To check in the partial quantity, enter the required quantity in the Quantity Received field. Enter your comments in the Check In Comments field, and select Check In. The medication is added to your inventory and available to be dispensed or administered to patients. Note: If you check in the partial quantity, the status for remaining quantity is set to Discrepancy. You can either waste or return the remaining quantity. Parent topic: Transfer Information Panel

Waste a Transferred Medication

You can waste the medications that are transferred to your location from another location of your practice. You can either waste full or partial quantity. On the MICS Inventory Management system template, expand the Transfer information panel. Select the required medication from the grid. The received quantity appears in the Quantity Received field. Optional: To waste the partial quantity, enter the required quantity in the Quantity Received field. Select a reason for waste in the Reason for Waste field. Select Waste. The medication is checked into inventory and wasted. Note: If you waste the partial quantity, the status for remaining quantity is set to Discrepancy. Return a Transferred Medication

You can return the medications that are transferred to your location from another location of your practice. You can either return full or partial quantity. On the MICS Inventory Management system template, expand the Transfer information panel. Select the required medication from the grid. The received quantity appears in the Quantity Received field. Optional: To return the partial quantity, enter the required quantity in the Quantity Received field. Select Return. The medication is returned to the original location. Waste Medications

You can remove a particular quantity of a non-vaccine medication and waste them from the medication inventory. You can use the Inventory Management template to waste medications from the inventory. You can also waste medications from the medical record templates during dispensing or administration. On the Inventory Management template, expand the Medication Inventory panel. Select the Waste option below the medication grid. The fields below the medication grid, except the Qty field, are disabled for editing. The Reason for Waste field and Waste Medication button appear below the medication grid. Filter the medications displayed in the grid for selecting the desired medication. Select the medication to be wasted from the medication grid. The following fields are automatically filled based on the selected medication. You can adjust the quantity of non-vaccine medications in the medication inventory. On the Inventory Management template, expand the Medication Inventory panel. Select the Adjust option below the medication grid. The fields below the medication grid, except the Qty field, are disabled for editing. The Reason for Adjustment field and Adjust Quantity button appear below the medication grid. Filter the medications displayed in the grid for selecting the desired medication. Select the medication to be adjusted from the medication grid. The following fields are automatically filled based on the selected medication. Transfer Information Panel

Use the Transfer Information panel to transfer medications from one inventory to another. Transferred medications appear in a holding grid where you can check them into inventory, return the medication, or waste the medication. Transfer Medications You can transfer non-vaccine medications between inventories of different locations.
