Managing Medications in the Inventory

You can search for the medication inventory, view inventory details, and manage non-vaccine medications in the inventory. On the Inventory Management template, in the Medication Inventory panel, you can search for the medication inventory and view inventory details. The total number of items in the medication grid and the total quantity of the non-vaccine medications appear in the Grid Count and Grid Total fields respectively. You can also add, waste, adjust, and transfer non-vaccine medications in the medications grid. You can use the fields above the medication grid to filter medications based on a filter criteria. The filter criteria are specific to the selected location and sub-location, and the Sub-Location field appears only if it is configured in the Sub-Location(s) & Par Level Configuration panel on the Admin Configuration template. Waste Panel

Transfer Medications

You can transfer non-vaccine medications between inventories of different locations. On the Inventory Management template, expand the Medication Inventory panel. Select the Transfer option below the medication grid. The Transfer Information panel opens. In the Medication Inventory panel, select the medication to be transferred. The details for selected medication appear in the corresponding fields in the Transfer Information panel. In the Transfer Information panel, select the required details in the following fields: Quantity Transfer To Location Mode of Transfer The Transfer button is enabled. Check In the Transferred Medications

Medications transferred to a location do not go directly to the location’s inventory. They appear in the grid under the Transfer Information panel from where you can check in the medications to inventory, return the medications to original location, or waste the medications. On the MICS Inventory Management system template, expand the Transfer information panel. Select the required medication from the grid. The received quantity appears in the Quantity Received field. Optional: To check in the partial quantity, enter the required quantity in the Quantity Received field. Enter your comments in the Check In Comments field, and select Check In. The medication is added to your inventory and available to be dispensed or administered to patients. Note: If you check in the partial quantity, the status for remaining quantity is set to Discrepancy. You can either waste or return the remaining quantity. Parent topic: Transfer Information Panel

Waste a Transferred Medication

You can waste the medications that are transferred to your location from another location of your practice. You can either waste full or partial quantity. On the MICS Inventory Management system template, expand the Transfer information panel. Select the required medication from the grid. The received quantity appears in the Quantity Received field. Optional: To waste the partial quantity, enter the required quantity in the Quantity Received field. Select a reason for waste in the Reason for Waste field. Select Waste. The medication is checked into inventory and wasted. Note: If you waste the partial quantity, the status for remaining quantity is set to Discrepancy. Inventory Management Template

Use the Inventory Management template to manage your medication inventory. You can add, adjust, waste, and transfer medications, track transactions. view which patients were administered certain medications in case of recalls and run inventory reports.
