Add an Assessment to Today’s Assessments grid

There are three ways to add assessments to the Today’s Assessments grid on the MICS Med/Admin OPH template. Remove an Assessment from Today's Assessments

Review Today's Assessments

Ophthalmic providers can review previously documented diagnoses/assessments that were selected for the patient for this encounter listed in the Today's Assessments grid in the Diagnosis panel on the Finalize - OPH template. CAUTION: A diagnosis added or modified on the Finalize - OPH template does not appear in the Impression/Plan Summary grid. However, it appears in the Diagnosis History and in the Chart Note. Add New Assessments Using the Diagnosis Code Lookup Link

If the assessments that you want to add are not in the Billing Diagnosis History grid, you can add them from the Diagnosis Code Lookup link below the grid. Select the Diagnosis Code Lookup link. The diagnosis search window opens. Do one or both of the following, as needed. Enter any string of characters that may be in the clinical description for the diagnosis, and click Search. Scroll to find the diagnosis in the right-hand list. Highlight the diagnosis. Select Select. The Diagnosis search window closes and the diagnosis you selected appears in the Billing Diagnosis History grid. Select Add/Update to add the diagnosis to Today’s Assessments. When all assessments are in the Today’s Assessments grid, click Save & Close. All assessments in the Today’s Assessments grid on the Add or Update Assessment template are entered into the Today’s Assessments grid on the MICS Med/Admin OPH template. Documenting Ophthalmology Injections

You can document ophthalmology injection procedures for a patient on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. On the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, you can document procedure information, medications administered, and the patient's response for eye injection procedures. You can use the fields appearing before the Today’s Assessments panel to add the general details for documenting eye injection procedures. You can also use the sections after the Injection 2 panel to document follow-up information and view the injection history. The following table describes the panels on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. Panel Description Today’s Assessments View diagnoses added or used on today’s visit, and add and update diagnoses through this panel. Using the Assessments Tab

The Assessments tab in the My Plan template set houses the Add or Update Assessment template. The grids on the Assessments tab can be filtered. For example, in the Billing Diagnosis History section, selecting the Show Chronic only check box displays only those diagnoses that are not acute. Selecting the option to Add Assessments on 1 click speeds up the documentation process by including the diagnosis description and code for Today's Assessment in the grid and Problems module without having to click Add/Update. The Medications or Immunizations links can be used at any time during the encounter to access the associated module.
