Documenting Eye Injections

You can document procedure and medication information for eye injection procedures in the OD Injection and OS Injection panels on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. You can document the medication information for up to two medications for an eye injection. You can also document patient's response for the documented injection in the Patient Response section. Generate Consent Form for an Eye Injection Procedure

Administrative Override

Once documentation is complete, the final step is submitting charges. Once charges are submitted, the template is locked down. If you have administrative override rights, you can make changes or document additional information. Administrative override does not remove any charges already submitted; those must be adjusted manually. Note: Only users configured to have administrative override rights see the Admin Override button once charges have been submitted. Click the Admin Override button to “un-lock” the template. The system prompts you to confirm that you want to override charges on this encounter. Click Yes. The Submit button re-appears and the Admin Override button is replaced with red text that says Admin Override. Do one of the following: Correct any incorrect documentation such as side, site, drug, and lot number by selecting clicking in the desired fields. When you have documented all procedure information, your final steps are to add any comments, capture any follow-up visit information, and then submit charges. Enter Follow-Up Information

Use the follow-up section to document when and who the patient should follow-up with, the reason for follow-up, and that post-procedure instructions were given to the patient. To schedule a follow-up visit, mark the Schedule Follow-up Visit check box. Select the Timeframe field and select a timeframe for the follow-up visit. Select the Follow-up with field and select a healthcare provider from the picklist. Document the reason for the next visit by checking the For injection check box or clicking in the Other field to select an item from the picklist.
