Using the Data Share Module to Import and Export Clinical Data

You can use the Data Share module, a feature of NextGen® Enterprise EHR, to import and export Continuity of Care Document (CCD) and Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) files to and from designated folders and exchange clinical information with other providers, patients, and institutions such as regional health information organizations (RHIOs) and the Health Information Systems Program (HISP).

This Data Share module serves the same function as the Medical Summary Utility but provides a simpler user interface and superior performance. The Medical Summary Utility continues to be available, but its use is deprecated.

An earlier version of the Data Share module provided access only to the NextGen® Share Carequality Service. The old version is still available for the convenience of existing users.
