Select Test Favorites for a Practice

Select File Maintenance > System > Practices. Select a practice. Select Preferences. In the Preference List, select Orders Module. Select Order Module > Lab/Rad tab. Select the folder to select one or more of the Order Test Favorites lists that have been created for your database. These tests must have already been created in File Maintenance. Set Up Practice Preferred Performing Entities

Using File Maintenance Practice Preference settings, you can select a default value for the performing entity to use for both lab tests and radiology orders for a selected practice. You can also set up In-House Performing Entity by which the laboratory and diagnostic order items mapped to this entity are displayed in the list of Common Orders in NextGen® Enterprise CPOE. Select File Maintenance > System > Practices. Select a practice. Select Preferences. Select Order module in the Preference List. To display the Lab or Radiology performing entities, select the Open Record button. The list of performing entities appears. Using the right and left arrows, select the Lab and Radiology performing entities. In the Performing Entities window, select OK. Select the Lab Preferred Performing Entity and the In-House Performing Entity from the list. Select the Radiology Preferred Performing Entity and the In-House Performing Entity from the list. Setting Up Required fields for Order Processing

For more efficient order processing and best clinical practices, your practice may need to set up certain fields as required. For example, your practice wants the Diagnosis field to be required when ordering a lab or radiology test. The NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module enables you to select fields as required in File Maintenance Practice Preferences. Required fields can be set up for all of the order types, that is, Lab, Radiology, and Immunizations. Once you set up these fields as required, they will display in Red on the appropriate Orders or Immunizations window, when you add or update an existing order. Before an order can be saved, users must ensure that these required fields have been entered or selected. Access the Immunizations Practice Preferences

In File Maintenance, select System > Practices > Preferences. The Practices List window opens. Locate and then double-click your practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens.
