Open the Practice Preferences

Do one of the following: In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Admin > Preferences > Practice. Double-click a practice, and then select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preference List, select the desired practice preference name. The window displays the Practice Preferences related to your selection. Set NextGen Adaptive Content Engine Save Action for Internal Documents Assign External Resource Links in Practice Preferences to be added later. You must set up educational resource preferences in the following applications: File Maintenance or NextGen® Enterprise PM Practice Preferences: Internal educational resources default save action when you access internal patient education documents in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine External resource URLs at the practice level NextGen® Enterprise EHR: External resource URLs at the user level System Administrator: Security rights and permissions Set Up Practice Preferences You can view and set preferences for all your practices in the Practice Preferences window. Set Up Practice Preferences

You can set preferences for your practice from NextGen® Enterprise PM or File Maintenance. To open the Practice Preferences window, do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > > Preferences > Practice. In File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Practices, double-click a practice name, and then select Preferences. Set preferences on various tabs in the Practice Preferences window.

Set NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Save Action for Internal Documents

If you access the Patient Education Browser in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, you can set up in the Resources Practice Preferences whether you want internal patient education documents that are saved to the encounter to be automatically sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: The preferences enhance patient triggers in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, and they do not have an impact on the Patient Education Module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Set Up Practice Preferences. From the Preference List, select Resources. From Internal Resources, select one of the following save options: Internal Document to Save to Encounter automatically. Allows a specified Internal Patient Education document to save to the encounter automatically. Internal Document to Save to Encounter and Send to Patient Portal automatically. Set Up Enterprise Preferences

You can set preferences for all practices in your enterprise from NextGen® Enterprise PM or File Maintenance. To open the Enterprise Preferences window, do one of the following: From NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > > Preferences > Enterprise. From File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Enterprises, and from the list, choose an enterprise and then select Preferences. Set your preferences on the various tabs in the Enterprise Preferences window.
