You should select the applicable reason for visit before you annotate a finding. You can select multiple reasons for visit for the current encounter, and attach multiple findings to a particular reason for visit.
A finding is attached to the reason currently displayed in the REASON FOR VISIT pane.
- If you have already selected reasons for visit, the last one selected appears by default. If you have multiple reasons for visit, you can display another reason. You also have the option to add reasons to display.
- If you have not selected any reasons for visit, no value appears in the REASON FOR VISIT pane. Select the reason for visit for your findings.
- The REASON FOR VISIT pane is refreshed when the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component is initially appeared or made visible. If the GET component is on a collapsible panel, the reasons for visit are refreshed when the collapsible panel is opened.
The Findings Grid displays the number of findings associated with each reason for visit. You can select the findings and the exam tools for the reasons for visit.
The GET shows all image annotations for all reasons for visit. You can select an option to display only image annotations attached to the selected reason for visit.
Note: The GET component pulls the reasons for visit from the following NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine master_im template fields: master_im_.chiefcomplaint1, master_im_.chiefcomplaint2, master_im_.chiefcomplaint3, master_im_.chiefcomplaint4, master_im_.chiefcomplaint5, and master_im_.chiefcomplaint6. If you are creating a custom template, you can build a master_im table with the chief complaint fields and map custom reasons for visit fields to the master_im fields.
