Add a Reason for Visit

If you are a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine user, you can select reasons for visit from the picklist in the GET component. The data in the picklist is based on master_im_.specialty and master_im_.txt_age_yrs fields in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine master_im. If you are creating a custom template, you can add reasons for visit by creating or mapping data to the master_im_.chiefcomplaint fields, as described in Managing Reasons for Visit. In the REASON FOR VISIT pane, select the Extra menu icon, and select Manage Reasons for Visit. The Reasons for Visit window opens. From the list at the bottom of the window, select the reason. Note: This list is populated by the stored procedure for the ngkbm_udg_rfv_picklist. This picklist is not available outside NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Select Add. The reason is added to the window. Repeat step 2 for each reason you want to add. The Reasons for Visit window lists each reason in the order that it was added. Select Close. The REASON FOR V

Display Another Reason for Visit

If you entered multiple reasons for visit, select the Right Arrow to display the next reason or select the Left Arrow to display the previous reason. The arrows are disabled when you reach the first or last item. Parent topic: Manage Reasons for Visit

Manage Reasons for Visit

You should select the applicable reason for visit before you annotate a finding. You can select multiple reasons for visit for the current encounter, and attach multiple findings to a particular reason for visit. A finding is attached to the reason currently displayed in the REASON FOR VISIT pane. If you have already selected reasons for visit, the last one selected appears by default. If you have multiple reasons for visit, you can display another reason. You also have the option to add reasons to display. If you have not selected any reasons for visit, no value appears in the REASON FOR VISIT pane. Select the reason for visit for your findings. The REASON FOR VISIT pane is refreshed when the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component is initially appeared or made visible. If the GET component is on a collapsible panel, the reasons for visit are refreshed when the collapsible panel is opened. Filters on Reason for Visit

In the Framework Content system template, the Reason for Visit panel includes the following filters. Filter Description all Includes all of the reasons for visit for the specialty currently selected in the Framework Content system template. The Submenus section opens when you select all. top Includes only the selected top reasons for visit for a specialty (up to 14). Add Additional Reasons for Visit Not Listed

Select the Additional/Manage link below the Other field in the left-side navigation. The Reason for Visit window opens. Reason for Visit window Select the reasons from the list on the left. As you select reasons, they enter the fields to the right. For any reasons that you want to follow up on, select the Follow up checkbox above the field for the reason. Select Save & Close. Document the Additional Findings of the Procedure in the Findings Panel

In the Reason for Visit section, select the applicable procedure to document the finding. To select more reasons for visit, click the Extra button on the Reason for Visit section and then select the Manage reasons for visit option from the menu. The Reason for Visit window opens. Findings Click the field at the bottom of the window to select a reason from the list. Click Add. The Findings section includes the findings that are configured on the Procedure Documentation Config practice template. Based on the procedure selected in the Reason for Visit section, click the appropriate illustration tab ( Upper GI, Lower GI, and Anal/Rectal) to display the corresponding illustration. Each illustration is divided into regions. In the Findings section, select a finding. Click a particular location on the illustration to select a region.
