Add a Reason for Visit

If you are a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine user, you can select reasons for visit from the picklist in the GET component. The data in the picklist is based on master_im_.specialty and master_im_.txt_age_yrs fields in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine master_im. If you are creating a custom template, you can add reasons for visit by creating or mapping data to the master_im_.chiefcomplaint fields, as described in Managing Reasons for Visit.

  1. In the REASON FOR VISIT pane, select the Extra menu icon, and select Manage Reasons for Visit.
    The Reasons for Visit window opens.
  2. From the list at the bottom of the window, select the reason.
  3. Select Add.
    The reason is added to the window.
  4. Repeat step 2 for each reason you want to add.
    The Reasons for Visit window lists each reason in the order that it was added.

  5. Select Close.
    The REASON FOR VISIT pane displays the last reason entered.
