Select an existing encounter from the Encounter History or create an encounter.
Open the template that contains the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component.
The GET component window opens. The findings and exam tools are displayed for the selected location and provider in GET component.
Note: The GET template can be opened in NextGen® Enterprise EHR without selecting the Reason for Visit.
From the REASON FOR VISIT pane, select the reason for visit that you want to attach the finding.
To change profile settings, select Settings from the Options and Settings Popup Menu.
The Graphical Exam Tool - Settings window opens.
Note: To edit profile settings, you must have the Operations Right for Administration > Edit EHR Component Profiles enabled in the System Administrator.
Select the tab that contains the image you want to annotate first.
The tab for the first image appears by default.
Adjust the view or manipulate the image using the image toolbars or image menu.
In the FINDINGS pane, select the finding you want to annotate.
To show or hide this pane, select Show Findings Menu from the Options and Settings Popup Menu.
In the IMAGES pane, select the image you want to annotate to the finding.
To show or hide this pane, select Show Findings Images from the Options and Settings Popup Menu.
Use a drawing tool to annotate the finding on the image. You can use the default drawing tool set up in the profile or another drawing tool on the image toolbars. You can view and edit annotation properties. When you annotate a finding, the GET component window opens:
A descriptive label for the annotation.
A finding attributes window, if the profile is configured to show it.
A Findings Grid beneath the image that enables you to view and enter attribute information and execute other finding actions.
The number of annotations for the finding in the FINDINGS menu pane.
The notification type, event, action, and parameter are populated with the applicable information for each annotation.
Select the Save the Annotated Image to Chart button at the top right of the GET component window to save your annotations.
The Save to Chart window opens, requiring you to confirm the action.
Select OK to save the annotated image.
Select Cancel if you do not want to save the image. The annotations appear in the patient's chart on the Encounter History tab. You can select an annotation to open it in a separate tab.
