Before you begin
Each
NextGen® Enterprise EHR document requires user rights and permissions to generate, view, and work with the document.
In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can generate, view and work with the documents.
- Select the patient encounter, that you want to generate a document.
- To open the Documents module, do one of the following:
- Select the Documents icon on the Top Toolbar.
- On the main menu, select .
The
Generate Document window opens displaying the available documents that are in the
Document Folders by default.
- If the document is in a different folder, select the specific folder or All Documents in the Organize documents section.
Note: On the Organize document folders window, if necessary, you can reassign the document to a different folder by dragging and dropping the selected document, or you can delete the document from that folder.
All documents in the selected folder are displayed.
- To find a document, do one of the following:
The filter is displayed in red text at the top of the window. The first document that matches your search criteria is highlighted. If necessary, scroll down to find your required document.
- If your document is not selected, select the document.
The Document field displays the full document name. The previously assigned categories to that document are checked in the Categories section.
- To add the document to a category, select the check box corresponding to the category that you want to add the document, in the Categories section.
Note: If the categories section is not in view, select
Categories option to display the categories within the
Generate Document window.
When you are adding a document initially to an encounter, you can add it to certain categories. If you are adding a document with an existing document name for the encounter, you can not assign, change, or add the document to the categories.
- Select the document generation options in the Destination section.
- To generate the document, do one of the following:
- Double-click the document name in the document list section.
- If the complete document name is displayed in the Document field, select <Enter>.
- Select Generate.
The document opens.
- Select Save on the Top Tollbar.
The document is saved to the selected category.
