Document Generation Options

ImmediateGenerates the document immediately and opens it in the designated viewer.
You can do one of the following:
  • To save the document to the patient' chart, you can select the Save check box.
  • To print the document on the default windows printer for your workstation, you can select the Print check box to print the document on the default windows printer for your workstation. The document is automatically saved to the patient chart.

You can also print the document after it is generated.

Offline

Generates the document offline and saves it to the patient's chart using the TX Text Document Queue utility.

When you select the Offline option, the Generate Server and Printer fields are displayed.

To populate the list of available machines, you must first turn on the Document Queue utility.

From the Generate Server list, you can select one of the following:
  • First Available (default), which makes the document available to any active instance of Document Queue running on any machine not set to this machine only.
  • Specific machine
From the Printer list, select one of the printers available for the selected Generate Server:
  • If First Available is selected, you can do one of the following:
    • You can leave the Printer setting blank to use the default printer for the server running the instance of Document Queue.
    • You can select <Default windows printer>.
  • If a specific server is selected, you can do one of the following:
    • You can leave the Printer setting blank to use the default printer for the server.
    • You can select <Default windows printer>.
    • You can select a specific printer.

For TX Text documents, you can set up default generator and printer preferences.

Patient Portal

Opens the document in the designated viewer, saves it to the patient chart, and sends it to the NextGen® PxP Portal website. The document remains open.

You can select the Print check box to print the document on the default windows printer for your workstation.

You can also print the document after it is generated.

At run time, the Patient Portal Document Export window opens to add comments or a standard response. When the document is sent, a confirmation message window opens.
