Create Midmark Stress ECG Reports

Before you start recording, ensure that the equipment is connected to the PC.

  1. Prepare the patient for the test as needed.
  2. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, load a patient and select a location and provider.
  3. Open the Integrated Equipment Module
  4. From the Acquire Report list, select Midmark Stress ECG.
    The Pre-Test Settings window opens.

  5. On the Pre-Test Settings window:
    • If needed, select Settings to change system configurations and to manage user profiles.
    • Select an Exercise Profile from the list and select Next.
      The Hookup window opens.

  6. Prepare the patient for the test by connecting the electrodes and verifying the ECG tracing quality.
  7. On the Hookup window:
    • When you are satisfied with the ECG tracing quality, select Stage Up (F4) to allow the software to learn the ECG, which requires approximately 30 seconds.

Once complete, the program automatically enters the pre-exercise phase of the test and displays the initial average beats.

    • Perform any Pre-exercise Phase operations (such as acquiring a supine rhythm strip, preparing the patient, and so on).
    • Select Stage Up (F4) to start the treadmill.

      A confirmation message opens.

    • Select Yes to start the treadmill.
    • Have the patient step onto the moving treadmill belt to begin exercise.
    • Perform any Exercise Phase operations (such as monitoring the patient for changes, measuring blood pressure, and so on).
    • Select Recovery (F9) when it is time to end the Exercise phase of the test.
    • Perform any Recovery Phase operations (such as monitoring the patient for changes, measuring blood pressure, and so on).
    • Select Exit (F12) to end the test.
The Reasons for Termination window opens.

  8. Select the following information:
    • In the Reasons for Test Termination section, indicate the reasons for stopping the test.
    • In the Level of Effort (Borg Scale) section, indicate the patient's response to perceived exertion.
    • In the Level of Chest Pain section, indicate the patient's response regarding chest pain experienced during the test.
  9. Select OK to save the test and exit the window.
A new Midmark Stress ECG report appears in the IEM grid and an Equipment Report indicator appears in the History toolbar under the encounter.
