Open the Referrals Order Template

You can access the Referrals Order template in various way. There is more than one way to open the Referrals Order template. On the SOAP tab, in the Assessment / Plan panel, select Referrals in the navigation bar. On the Care Coordination Home template, in the Referral History section, select Add. Document Office Procedures

You can place an order on the Office Procedures template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the SOAP template. In the Assessment/Plan panel, select Office Procedures in the navigation bar. The Office Procedures template opens. If required, select an assessment. The Office Procedures template is part of a group of templates that use the last assessment or diagnosis selected on any of the templates in the group as the working assessment. The application defaults to the current working assessment. You can select another assessment, which becomes the new working assessment that carries forward to the other templates in the group. The selected assessment appears in the Selected Dx field. Select an appropriate procedure and enter the required details. Office Procedures Select Place Order. Note: If you order medications on the My Plan template, the drug interaction and allergy check are performed when you place the order that enabling you to acknowledge each interaction and allergy. Flag an Attachment that Includes Sensitive Information

You can flag an attachment that has sensitive information. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Referral Attachments template, on the Referrals Order template, in the Attachments section, select Details. To select from the resulting list of possible documents and images from the patient’s chart that can be attached to the referral, select any of the eight available attachment fields. Note: On the list, a Yes in the Sensitive column reveals that the attachment is from an encounter that is marked as sensitive. As you select attachments, notice the red Sensitive text that appears to the right of the attachment label on the Referral Attachments template. To return to the Referrals Order template, select Save & Close. Note: If one or more selected attachments are from a sensitive encounter, a confirmation alert appears. To accept the attachments as is, select Yes on the alert window. The Referral Attachments template closes and text appears below the Attachment section that this referr

Order Referrals in the Referral Order Template

You can place referral orders for other specialties, providers, therapies, and durable medical equipment. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Referral Order. The Referral Order template opens. To add diagnoses and procedures for the order, select Dx & Px. Note: Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must select at least one diagnosis to order referrals. Optional: To indicate that the referral is internal, select Internal referral. Select the date of injury and insurance name. Note: By default, the encounter date appears in Date. You can change the date, if needed. The policy number is automatically filled based on the selected insurance name. In the To section, do one of the following to select the recipient: To add a referral for a specialty or provider, select Specialty/specialist name/site, and then select the specialty, provider name, and reason. Order Tests, Therapies, Equipment, and Referrals in the Single Order Template

You can document the details of radiology, therapy, lab, durable medical equipment (DME), and referral orders required for a patient and place all orders at once. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Select Dx & Px to add the necessary diagnoses and procedures. Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must add at least one diagnosis to order external radiology tests, therapies, durable medical equipment (DME), lab tests, and referrals. Note: You can use the Radiology Picklists panel in the Radiology Configuration template to make diagnosis-code selection mandatory for placing internal radiology test orders, depending on the category.
