Care Guidelines Setup

On the Care Guidelines Setup template, you can set up the guideline test items.

Care guidelines consist of orderable items (previously known as protocols) and recommended care items. Some guideline items are performed within a specific time interval, indicated by a date in the Due column. Items with due dates are ordered, and items without a due date are listed as a reminder to review them with the patient and update their status without having to place orders.

Before you use the Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines templates, you must review and ensure that the guidelines that come with the application meet the needs of the practice.

For configuration, care guidelines are divided into orderable and recommended items.
