Panels Used in Setting Up Orderable Items

You can set up the orderable items for a patient associated with orders in the NextGen Adaptive Content Engine.

The Orderable items (formerly protocols), are associated with orders in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, they have CPT® billing and compendium codes.

Interventions / Orders SetupEnables you to set up lab tests, diagnostic studies, and examinations (orderable items) for a guideline.
Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions
  • Intervention Equivalents section
    • Enables you to set up any test descriptions or billing codes that are equivalent synonyms for a test defined in a guideline using either a description or a test code. You do not have to enter both.
  • Document Types/Codifications section
    • Enables you to use the Document Types/Codificationssection to link guidelines or tests to scanned document types to satisfy a guideline based on the tests that have not been ordered by the practice but performed elsewhere and the results have been sent to the practice.
Duplicate Orderable CodesEnables you to use the Test Code field to search for duplicate codes that exist in various Care Guidelines setup configurations. You can view and determine if these duplicates are acceptable or need to be addressed.
FAQsEnables you to find answers for many frequently asked questions about the Care Guidelines system, how it works, and how to use it to perform common tasks and so forth.
