Access the Procedure AOE Template

On the My Custom Plan template, My Plan panel, highlight a diagnosis. Highlight the required procedure order and click Add to populate it to the Pending Orders. Click AOE to open the Procedure AOE template. My Plan Note: If you do not click AOE and procedures are available with AOE questions, upon clicking Place Order, the Procedure AOE template automatically opens. Filter Pending Orders

Open the My Custom Plan template. In the My Plan panel, Pending Orders section, click the View field to filter items in the grid by a selected plan type. If Ask at Order Entry questions apply, select AOE to view the questions. View and Change AOE Indicators

Indicators are available to let users know whether additional order information (lab or procedures) are required. Add the selected order to the grid for Pending Orders to observe an indicator listed under the AOE column for the order row. Click AOE. If additional information is required, the corresponding (Procedure or Labs) AOE template launches. If no AOEs are indicated, an alert lets the user know that no documentation is required. Click Place Order. If an order has an AOE question unanswered, the corresponding AOE template launches. Note: If you select the To be determined option and click Place Order, the system selects the Save to Module but Don't Send to Interface queue check box. The orders are placed in the Orders module with the status of New and the Performing Entity column remains blank. Edit Selected AOE Options

Certain lab test orders require patient information to run the test and determine the results. For example, the test might require a person's height, weight, age, race, or other information. To define Ask at Order Entry (AOE) questions in NextGen® Enterprise, you must gather the following information for each question you use with any testing performed at your practice, and then create entries for the question(s) using File Maintenance. Column Column Content System This value is the testing entity, such as Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics. Question Code This code value is provided by the testing entity, such as Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics. Each testing entity has its own naming requirements. Description This is a free text field. The description for the question is selected by you. Document Ask-on-Entry Questions for Lab Tests

You can document answers for ask-on-entry (AOE) questions applicable for lab tests. If any ask-on-entry (AOE) questions are applicable for the selected test, a caution icon appears in the Lab Order template or in the Labs panel of the Single Order template. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Lab Order or Single Order. In the Lab Order template or the Labs panel of the Single Order template, select the caution icon. The IORTS Ord Labs AOE window opens.
