View and Change AOE Indicators

Indicators are available to let users know whether additional order information (lab or procedures) are required. Add the selected order to the grid for Pending Orders to observe an indicator listed under the AOE column for the order row. Click AOE. If additional information is required, the corresponding (Procedure or Labs) AOE template launches. If no AOEs are indicated, an alert lets the user know that no documentation is required. Click Place Order. If an order has an AOE question unanswered, the corresponding AOE template launches. Note: If you select the To be determined option and click Place Order, the system selects the Save to Module but Don't Send to Interface queue check box. The orders are placed in the Orders module with the status of New and the Performing Entity column remains blank. Edit Selected AOE Options

Filter Pending Orders

Open the My Custom Plan template. In the My Plan panel, Pending Orders section, click the View field to filter items in the grid by a selected plan type. Choose a Plan Type

Open the My Custom Plan template. On the My Plan panel, highlight a diagnosis description in the top grid. In the Order Options section, select a Plan Type from the list. Enter and View Diagnoses on My Custom Plan

Orders can only be created after an assessment is designated for the encounter. On the My Custom Plan template, My Plan panel, do one of the following actions: Next to Diagnosis Selection, select the desired search option (Today's Assessments or Clinical Problems) to highlight the assessment in the grid. Click the Dx Search link to open the diagnosis search window. Search for and highlight the correct diagnosis. Click Select to return to My Custom Plan. Click Add/Edit Assessment or Add/Edit Problems below the grid (depending on the search option selected) to add as many assessments and/or clinical problems as is required. Click Save & Close to return to My Custom Plan. Note: There are five diagnoses or four clinical problems immediately visible in the grid with the option to scroll down to view all of the entered data. Ask at Order Entry (AOE) Functionality for Procedures

The Ask at Order Entry (AOE) functionality is built into the My Custom Plan template and requires no additional customization. The provider creates an order that requires AOE questions to be completed, receives the prompt, and enters the appropriate answers on the template. A list of common procedure options (AOEs or preparation instructions) and procedures that require a picklist are configurable. The updated AOE question/answer process is available while placing office procedure orders based on categories.
