Order Anti-D Immune Globulin

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a female adult patient record, and then create an encounter. On the Intake template, and then select the specialty as Obstetrics and visit type as OB Prenatal. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Prenatal Detail template, and then expand the Optional Orders panel. In the Anti-D immune Globulin section, select the encounter date in the Date field. Select the diagnosis. Select the Historical entry check box. The Add to Medication Module check box appears. Select the Add to Medication Module check box. Select Add. Note: If you select Historical entry and Add to Medication Module, the system performs drug and allergies checks for historical entry records. Prescribe/Manage Prescriptions

You can launch the Medication module from this template to prescribe and manage medication. Select the Medications button. The Medication module opens. Select Prescribe New. The Medication Search template opens. Type the medication name in the Find field. As you type more letters of the name, the search is refined to match what you have entered. When you find the medication, double-click on it to add it to the Selected Medications grid. If the drug has any counter indications or interactions with other medications, or specifics of how it can be purchased or prescribed, a window opens for you to acknowledge those. When you have added all of the medications you need to the Selected Medications grid, click Select. The medications display in the Medication module. If the selected medication does not have defaults for the required Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date, click those fields and enter the information. Add a Medication

Click Add under the Medications grid. The Medications Module opens. On the Medications Module, click Prescribe New. The Medication Search window opens. Type the name in the Find field. As you type additional letters, the search is refined to match what you have entered. Double-click on the medication to add it to the Selected Medications grid. If the drug has any counter indications or interactions with other medications, or specifics of how it can be purchased or prescribed, a dialog box opens for you to acknowledge those. Once you have added all medications, click Select. This enters the medications in the Medications Module. Enter the Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date from the corresponding list. If applicable, select the Prescribed elsewhere check box. Click Accept. Click the X in the upper right of the window to close the Medications Module. Medication Allergies Module

The Medication Allergies module helps you to identify the potential for adverse drug reactions. Use this module to enter and retrieve any currently known adverse reaction to substances that may put the patient at risk if the patient exposed to similar substances in the future. Some food allergies like red dye or shellfish can be documented in this module, but a pollen allergy such as ragweed is a medical condition and would be better documented in the Problems module. Ragweed does not present a risk for an adverse drug reaction. Open the Medication Allergies Module You can open the Medication Allergies module from Quick Buttons panel in NextGen Enterprise EHR. Add Additional SIG Configuration

The Additional SIG Configuration panel enables practices to add additional SIGs. An additional SIG category may be Other SIG instructions and can include: Take with food, Take at the same time everyday instructions. A medication needs to be associated with these additional Sig’s to use them in the Order Management template. Open the Medication Configuration template. Expand the Additional SIG Configuration panel. Modify Additional SIG Instruction Categories panel Select the Category field to select the configured category from the list. Select the Medication SIG field to select an option, or select the blank line in the list to enter the SIG text. The list displays all the available SIGs in your library. Select the Additional SIG field, and enter an additional SIG. The information gets printed on the medication label. Select the Link Med ID field to link a medication, and select an active medication option from the list. Select Add. The entered information appears in the grid. Modify A

Complete the Transfer/Discharge Plan

The Plan section tab (BH - Transfer/Discharge 3 template) includes three sections: Medications Plan/instructions Additional information To document or print prescriptions, double-click anywhere in the grid under Medications (Active), to open the Medications module. CAUTION: Medications ordered in the Medications section are not compared with patient allergies; an allergic reaction could occur for which no warning will appear. Thoroughly review the patient’s allergy history.
