You can launch the Medication module from this template to prescribe and manage medication.
- Select the Medications button.
The Medication module opens.
- Select Prescribe New.
The Medication Search template opens.
- Type the medication name in the Find field.
As you type more letters of the name, the search is refined to match what you have entered.
- When you find the medication, double-click on it to add it to the Selected Medications grid.
If the drug has any counter indications or interactions with other medications, or specifics of how it can be purchased or prescribed, a window opens for you to acknowledge those.
- When you have added all of the medications you need to the Selected Medications grid, click Select.
The medications display in the Medication module.
- If the selected medication does not have defaults for the required Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date, click those fields and enter the information.
- If applicable, select the Prescribed Elsewhere check box and enter the source in the Source field.
- Select Accept.
- Select the X in the upper right of the window to close the Medication module.
The medication appears in the grid on the
Medication Management template.
