Document the Patient's Medications

Click Add/Update below the Medications grid to document the patient's current medications. The Medication module opens. Click Prescribe New. The Medication Search template opens. Search and select a medicine from the list, and then click Select. Enter the Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date from the corresponding list. Select the Prescribed elsewhere check box, if applicable. Click Accept and close the Medication module. Note: If applicable, click the Comment link to launch the Medication Comment template. Do not use this template to list medications that the patient is taking. You can use the template as a temporary location to list all the unknown medications that the patient is taking. Document Medications

You can document the medications to prescribe to a patient using the Medications module. Open the Intake - Dermatology template. In the Medications panel, click Add Medications. The Medication Module window opens. Click Prescribe New. The Medication Search template opens. Search and select a medicine from the list, and then click Select. Enter the Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date from the corresponding list. Select the Prescribed elsewhere check box, if applicable. Click Accept. Close the Medication module. To enter any comments about the medications, on the Medications section, click the Comment link. Note: You must not use the medication comment template to list the patient's current medications. You can use the template as a temporary location to list the patient's unknown medications, and enter the additional details. The color of the Medication Comment link changes. Add Medication in the Medication Module

Click Prescribe New option in the Medication module. In the Medication Searchwindow, search a medication and click Select. Medication Search window Click the Sig link in the Medication module and enter the Sig information. Medication Module Click Done. Enter the Quantity, Refills, Start date information. Document a Medication

You can add medications details for the treatment of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake template, in the Medications panel, select Add /Update. The Medication Module window opens. Select Prescribe New. The Medication Search window opens. Search for a medicine from the list, and then select Select. Enter the start and stop date of the medication that the patient needs to take. Enter the quantity of the medication. To mention when and how the patient can take the medication, select Edit Sig:. Enter the number of refills allowed on the prescription of the patient. Enter the problem of the patient. If the medications are already prescribed, select the Prescribed elsewhere check box. Select Accept. Close the Medication module. In the Medications panel, to enter additional information about the medications, select the Comment link. Prescribe/Manage Prescriptions

You can launch the Medication module from this template to prescribe and manage medication. Select the Medications button. The Medication module opens. Select Prescribe New. The Medication Search template opens. Type the medication name in the Find field. As you type more letters of the name, the search is refined to match what you have entered. When you find the medication, double-click on it to add it to the Selected Medications grid. If the drug has any counter indications or interactions with other medications, or specifics of how it can be purchased or prescribed, a window opens for you to acknowledge those. When you have added all of the medications you need to the Selected Medications grid, click Select. The medications display in the Medication module. If the selected medication does not have defaults for the required Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date, click those fields and enter the information.
