Add Medications in the Order Management Template
The Medications option and button in the Order Management panel is used to prescribe medications. The medications must be added in the Medication Configuration system template. Open the Order Management template in Intake. Select the Medications option. Click Medications to open the Medication module. Order Management template Select OK. Document a Medication
In the Medications panel, click Add/Update below the Medications grid to document the patient's current medications. The Medications module opens. Click Prescribe New. The Medication Search template opens. Search and select a medicine from the list, and then click Select. Enter the Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date from the corresponding list. Select the Prescribed elsewhere check box, if applicable. Click Accept. Close the Medication module. Note: If applicable, click the Comment link to launch the Medication Comment template. Do not use this template to list medications that the patient is consuming. You can use the template as a temporary location to list all the unknown medications that the patient is consuming. Document the Patient's Medications

Search and select a medicine from the list, and then select Select. Enter the Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date from the corresponding list. Select the Prescribed elsewhere checkbox, if applicable. Select Accept and close the Medication module. Note: If applicable, select the Comment link to open the Medication Comment template. Do not use this template to list medications that the patient is taking. You can use the template as a temporary location to list all the unknown medications that the patient is taking. Add a Medication
Click Add under the Medications grid. The Medications Module opens. On the Medications Module, click Prescribe New. The Medication Search window opens. Type the name in the Find field. As you type additional letters, the search is refined to match what you have entered. Double-click on the medication to add it to the Selected Medications grid. If the drug has any counter indications or interactions with other medications, or specifics of how it can be purchased or prescribed, a dialog box opens for you to acknowledge those. Once you have added all medications, click Select. This enters the medications in the Medications Module. Enter the Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date from the corresponding list. If applicable, select the Prescribed elsewhere check box. Click Accept. Click the X in the upper right of the window to close the Medications Module. Prescribe/Manage Prescriptions
You can launch the Medication module from this template to prescribe and manage medication. Select the Medications button. The Medication module opens. Select Prescribe New. The Medication Search template opens. Type the medication name in the Find field. As you type more letters of the name, the search is refined to match what you have entered. When you find the medication, double-click on it to add it to the Selected Medications grid. If the drug has any counter indications or interactions with other medications, or specifics of how it can be purchased or prescribed, a window opens for you to acknowledge those. When you have added all of the medications you need to the Selected Medications grid, click Select. The medications display in the Medication module. Add Medications in the Medications Module
You can add required medication details in the Medications module to make the details appear in the Care Guidelines Paged View template. Before you begin To view medication specific details in the Care Guidelines template, you need to add a problem and medication details for the patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient chart, and create an encounter. Open the Medications module. In Find, search for any medication entered in the Medication Specific template, and select the medication.The Select button is turned on. Select Select, select Edit Sig, and enter the dosage details. Add Dosage Complete the prescribing details. Add quantity and refill Select a problem, and then select Accept. Important: Ensure that the details you add in the Medications module match the details in the Medication Specific template. The medication details appear in the grid.
