Manage Provider Communication

You can update or remove the formerly documented provider communications. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the SOAP template. Select the Provider Comm icon.The Provider Communication template opens. The Date field displays today’s date. To select another date, select the Date field and select the date. Select the row to update or remove in the grid.Details of the selected row appear in the fields on the grid. To update the communication details, do the following: Make the necessary changes in the fields. Select Add/Update.The updated communication appears in the grid. To remove the communication details, select Remove. Note: The selected communication does not appear in the grid when the Active filter is selected, and the Remove button is not available. The selected communication appears in the grid when the All or Deleted filters are selected. Select Save & Close. Parent topic: Provider Communications

Remove a Provider Communication Documented Earlier

On the SOAP template, select to open the navigation bar. Select the Provider Comm icon.The Provider Communication template opens. To select another date, select the Date field and select a date from the on-screen calendar. Note: The Date field automatically displays today’s date. Highlight the row to delete in the Provider Communications grid. Details for the row appear in the fields above the grid, and the Remove button is enabled. Select the Remove button.The selected communication no longer appears in the grid when the option to Show Active records is selected, and the Remove button is disabled. The selected communication appears in the grid when the option to Show All or Deleted records is selected, and includes the following information for the audit log: the Date and Time fields display when the deletion was done, the Status field displays deleted, the Edited by field displays the name of the user who deleted the record, and the Audit values field displays the values that changed

Document Provider Communication

You can document the communication details by using the Provider Communication template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake or SOAP template, select Provider Comm in the Navigation Buttons section.The Provider Communication template opens, and the Date field displays today’s date. You can change the date if necessary. Select each of the following fields as appropriate, and select from a list. To enter a value manually, select the upper blank line and enter the value. Note: When you select high osteoporosis fracture risk from the Communication regarding list, it should open the diagnosis search window. If not, you can correct this on the Custom Dbpicklists system template by changing the value of Qualifier 1 to Y for yes for high osteoporosis fracture risk. Provider Communications

You can use the Provider Communication template to document the communications details. The communications can be with another provider or physician, with the patient or guardian, or with another individual designated by the patient or guardian. A history of documented communications appears in the grid on the Provider Communication template. You can filter the grid to display communication records by the status. By default, the grid is filtered to show all the active records. The Audit Log link allows you to open the Provider Communications Audit Log template, where you can view or track changes made to a provider communication record. View the Audit Log for a Previously Documented Provider Communication

You can view edited or deleted records and the modifications for provider communication on the Provider Communication Audit Log template. The upper grid displays Provider Communication records for the patient. When you select a communication record in the upper grid, all changes or updates for the selected communication appear in the lower Audit Log grid. Do one of the following to open the Provider Communication panel or template: On the Assessment/Plan-OPH template, expand the Provider Communication panel. On the Provider-OPH template, scroll to the bottom and click the Provider Comm. button. The Provider Communication template opens. Previously documented provider communications can be edited and updated from the Provider Communication panel or template. Do one of the following to open the Provider Communication panel or template: On the Assessment/Plan-OPH template, expand the Provider Communication panel. On the Provider-OPH template, scroll to the bottom and click the Provider Comm. button. The Provider Communication template opens. The Date field automatically displays today’s date.
