Finalize (BH) Panels

The following table provides a description of the panels available on the Finalize (BH) template. The following table provides a description of the panels available on the Finalize (BH) template. Not all panels are used for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite workflows and some require additional configuration. Panels Description General Displays the patient type (established or new patient) and contact type collected from either the Psych Eval (BH) or Psych Prog Note (BH) template and the PE Type. The values can be edited on this template. It also provides a link to enter information regarding the E&M Guidelines configured for the visit. Today's Assessment Displays the assessment/diagnosis information documented from the Psych Eval (BH) or Psych Prog Note (BH) template. You can view, add, edit, or remove diagnoses from the Today’s Assessment panel. Provider Sign Off Enables you to submit a task to a Supervising provider and to record their review via checkbox. Select SNOMED CT Codes for Quality Reporting

If you do not bill from NextGen® Enterprise EHR but need to meet the visit code criteria for Clinical Quality Measures (CQMs), you can use a SNOMED CT® code instead of a CPT code. On the Finalize (BH) template, in the Evaluation and Management Coding panel, select the SNOMED Type (optional) link. The SNOMED Type template opens. Select a SNOMED CT code. Select Save & Close. The NextGen® HQM (Health Quality Measure) application uses the selected code at registry reporting time. Note: The code is not uploaded to the Procedures or Problems module. Submit E&M Code Under 97 Coding Guidelines

Before you begin You must configure the 97 Coding Guidelines selected on the Practice Configuration practice template. For more information on the 97 Coding Guidelines, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the E&M Coding User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Also, you must select an assessment in the Today’s Assessments panel to submit an E&M code. Open the Finalize template and then expand the Evaluation and Management Coding panel. Enter a start and end time. The duration calculates and displays in the corresponding field. When you enter a start and end time initially, the Time visit time (minutes) field updates with the same value. If you then edit the Time visit time (minutes) value and manually select an E&M code, the updated time overrides the original time entered. Behavioral Health Billing on the Finalize Template

The Finalize template calculates the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code and submits the code to the NextGen® Enterprise PM application. The Evaluation and Management Coding panel on the Finalize template calculates the E&M code based on the elements documented or the amount of time documented when more than 50% of the visit is spent counseling and/or coordinating care. The system fills the Visit Code field with the suggested Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes. You should review the suggested CPT code prior to submitting the code for billing. When the practice selects the 97 Coding Guidelines option on the Practice Configuration practice template and the specialty is set to Behavioral Health, the system defaults to the '97 Single System Psychiatric exam guidelines for the following visit types: Family Consultation General Medical Exam Hospital Consult Medication Management without Psychotherapy Onsite Consult Psychotherapy - Individual with E&M Medication Management with Psych

Enter Additional Visit Codes

You can enter two additional codes. The entered codes can be additional E&M codes, behavioral health codes, medicare preventive codes, or visit code service codes. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. For a patient record, open a new encounter. Open the Finalize template. In Evaluation and Management Coding, do the following: To enter a visit code service code, select the second or third Visit code field, and then select a code from the list. Note: You can update the items in the Visit Code Service Category list in File Maintenance under Service Categories. To enter an E&M, behavioral health, or medicare preventive code, select the corresponding links, and then select the code. Add Visit Code Modifiers You can add or replace visit code modifiers. Select a Prolonged Time Code You can select a prolonged time code to report time that surpasses the threshold for code 99205 or 99215 on the Finalize template.
