Finalize (BH) Panels

Panels	Description
General	Displays the patient type (established or new patient) and contact type collected from either the Psych Eval (BH) or Psych Prog Note (BH) template and the PE Type. The values can be edited on this template. It also provides a link to enter information regarding the E&M Guidelines configured for the visit.
Today's Assessment	Displays the assessment/diagnosis information documented from the Psych Eval (BH) or Psych Prog Note (BH) template. You can view, add, edit, or remove diagnoses from the Today’s Assessment panel.
Provider Sign Off	Enables you to submit a task to a Supervising provider and to record their review via checkbox. For information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Getting Started User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine.
Evaluation and Management Coding	Enables you to record the services rendered and the billing of service codes using 2021 E&M Coding Guidelines or 1997 E&M Coding Guidelines.
E&M Level	Is not used in NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. Data entry is not enabled. For information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Getting Started User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine.
History	Is not used in NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. For information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Getting Started User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine.
97 Multi System Physical Exam Details	Is not used in NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite. For information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Getting Started User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine.

Virtual Visit Billing	Enables practices that utilize virtual visit can use the Virtual Visit Billing panel on the Finalize (BH) template. If your practice has not configured this feature, the panel is unavailable. Dermatology Procedure Billing	Is not available on the Finalize (BH) template. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Dermatology User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine.
Behavioral Health Billing	Enables practices to bill for services rendered during the encounter.
OB Billing	Is available and utilized only for the Obstetrics specialty. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the Obstetrics User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine.
CPT II Claims Based Measure Reporting	Enables practices that use CPT II procedure codes for claims-based measure reporting can use the CPT II Claims Based Measure Reporting panel on the Finalize template to submit CPT II codes. If your practice has not configured this feature, the panel is unavailable. Submit E&M Codes per the 2021 Coding Guidelines

You can submit a calculated or selected Evaluation and Management (E&M) code to the Superbill using the 2021 Coding Guidelines. Before you begin The date of the encounter must be on or after the effective start date entered for the 2021 Coding Guidelines on the Practice Configuration template. The visit type must be one of the visit types impacted by the 2021 guidelines. For more information on the 2021 Coding Guidelines, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the E&M Coding User Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine. Also, you must select an assessment in the Today’s Assessment panel to be able to submit an Evaluation and Management (E&M) code. For guidance on how to use the 2021 E&M Coding Guidelines based on Medical Decision Making (MDM) level and time, you can use the information Info Icon icon. For guidance on the level of complexity and risks involved in MDM, you can use the View MDM Guidelines link. From an encounter, select the Templates Template Icon icon.

Submit E&M Code Under 97 Coding Guidelines

Before you begin You must configure the 97 Coding Guidelines selected on the Practice Configuration practice template. For more information on the 97 Coding Guidelines, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the E&M Coding User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Also, you must select an assessment in the Today’s Assessments panel to submit an E&M code. Open the Finalize template and then expand the Evaluation and Management Coding panel. Enter a start and end time. The duration calculates and displays in the corresponding field. When you enter a start and end time initially, the Time visit time (minutes) field updates with the same value. If you then edit the Time visit time (minutes) value and manually select an E&M code, the updated time overrides the original time entered. Finalize Documentation

The Finalize (BH) template enables you to view today's assessments, today's orders, enter counseling and/or interpreter information, submit E&M codes, or select the No Billing for Service checkbox. You use the Finalize (BH) template for billing of a psychiatric evaluation. You access the Finalize (BH) template by selecting EM Coding from the Psych Eval (BH) or Psych Prog Note (BH) template. From the Finalize (BH) template, you can view today's assessments, today's orders, enter counseling and interpreter detail information, submit E&M codes, or select the No Billing for Service checkbox. Not all the panels are required for NextGen® Behavioral Health Suite workflows. Several panels do require additional configuration. Note: If you need to make changes to the Specialty or Visit Type on the Finalize (BH) template, you must close the Finalize (BH) template and reopen to update the template. The Finalize Template Workflow

You can do the following on the Finalize template: Submit and review the plan of care, based on your role, on the Provider Sign Off panel. Document Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes on the Evaluation and Management Coding panel. Calculate the patient's medical-decision-making level and submit the E&M codes to the Superbill module. Review the patient's history and physical examination details on the E&M Level panel and identify factors in the calculation of the E&M code under the 95 or 97 Coding Guidelines. Behavioral Health Billing on the Finalize Template

The Finalize template calculates the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code and submits the code to the NextGen® Enterprise PM application. The Evaluation and Management Coding panel on the Finalize template calculates the E&M code based on the elements documented or the amount of time documented when more than 50% of the visit is spent counseling and/or coordinating care. The system fills the Visit Code field with the suggested Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes. You should review the suggested CPT code prior to submitting the code for billing. When the practice selects the 97 Coding Guidelines option on the Practice Configuration practice template and the specialty is set to Behavioral Health, the system defaults to the '97 Single System Psychiatric exam guidelines for the following visit types: Family Consultation General Medical Exam Hospital Consult Medication Management without Psychotherapy Onsite Consult Psychotherapy - Individual with E&M Medication Management with Psych
