Viewing Financial Information

Viewing Financial Information Viewing Financial Information You can view the patient's financial history by selecting the Financial tab of the patient chart. The Financial tab lists all the encounters that are associated with the patient and provides details of the payments received according to the primary, secondary, or tertiary insurances. Double-click an encounter in the list to expand the view to the charge level. Viewing Notes Information in Encounters

You an view the notes attached to a selected encounter in the Note tab under Encounters. You can add, modify, delete, print or seal an existing note on the selected encounter. Encounters - Notes Tab You can view patient encounters in the Encounters section and notes in the Encounter Notes section in the Notes tab. A pushpin appears next to an encounter with a note. Add Notes to Encounters You can add a note to a encounter using the Note tab under Encounters in a patient chart. Delete Encounter Notes You can use the Notes tab under Encounters to delete a note attached to a patient encounter. Viewing Transactions Information in Encounters Viewing Transactions Information in Encounters You can view charges and transactions (payments, adjustments, and refunds) for an encounter in the Transactions tab under Encounters. Additionally you can use the Transactions tab to do the following: Open the Charge Posting window. Reverse the payment on a transaction. The reversed payment appears in the Tracking Desc column in the Transactions tab. Open the Payment Entry window to view the transaction details. View the NextGen® Document Management explanation of benefits (EOB). View the NextGen® Document Management fee ticket. Viewing General Information in Encounters Viewing General Information in Encounters The General tab under Encounters in the patient's chart displays general, provider, diagnosis, and guarantor information for the selected encounter. You can use the Encounters tab to do the following: Open an encounter to view the Encounter Maintenance window. Right-click an encounter to open the shortcut menu. Add or to modify an encounter. Add or modify encounter-level diagnosis codes for an encounter in the ICD-CM section. You can view the ICD-9 to ICD-10 mapping for the ICD-10 codes that have been attached to the patient for the encounter. Add or modify guarantor information for an encounter in the Guarantor section. Viewing Clinical History and Notes Information

In the Clinical History/Notes tab of the patient's chart, you can view encounter and chart related information for the patient arranged in different topics. You can do the following on the Topics and Details section of the Clinical History/ Notes tab of the Patient Chart window: Select a topic under Clinical History to view any stored information Print a claim status report from Clinical History View existing recall plans for the patient Create a note or quick note for the patient's chart Attach any note or quick note to mail Seal a note or quick note View order notes for NextGen® Optical Management orders Clinical History/Notes Tab Creating Patient Notes You can use three types of patient notes to record formal or informal information for the patient.
