Viewing General Information in Encounters Viewing General Information in Encounters The General tab under Encounters in the patient's chart displays general, provider, diagnosis, and guarantor information for the selected encounter. You can use the Encounters tab to do the following: Open an encounter to view the Encounter Maintenance window. Right-click an encounter to open the shortcut menu. Add or to modify an encounter. Add or modify encounter-level diagnosis codes for an encounter in the ICD-CM section. You can view the ICD-9 to ICD-10 mapping for the ICD-10 codes that have been attached to the patient for the encounter. Add or modify guarantor information for an encounter in the Guarantor section. View the existing case icon next to the encounter number in the Encounters section if Case Management has been enabled for your practice and a case is associated with the encounter. Print Fee Tickets

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup . The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. select the Financial tab. All encounters for the patient are listed in the Financial Information section. Right-click an encounter in the encounters list, and then select Print > Fee Tickets. The Print Fee Tickets window opens. Select Print. Filter Encounters on the Patient Chart

You can narrow the list of encounters on the Financial tab under the Patient Chart to display only those that meet specific filter criteria. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup . The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Financial tab. All encounters for the patient are listed in the Financial Information section. To view encounters based on specific criteria, select Filter. The Filter Options window opens. Patient Encounters and Financial History Patient Encounters and Financial History This section provides information on encounters and the financial history associated with an encounter. Viewing Financial Information You can view a patient's financial history, encounters, and payments in the Financial tab of the patient chart. Viewing Clinical History and Notes Information You can use the Clinical History/Notes tab to view encounter and chart related information. Viewing General Information in Encounters You can use the General tab under Encounters to view detailed information for a selected encounter. Viewing Insurance Information in Encounters You can view a patient's insurance information in the insurance tab. Viewing Transactions Information in Encounters You can view detailed information of transactions for a selected encounter using the Transactions tab under Encounters. Add Insurance Verification Information to an Encounter

You can enter additional information for an insurance linked to an encounter in the Patient Insurance - Encounter window. This applies to primary, secondary, and tertiary payers. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup.. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Encounters tab. From the Encounters list, select an encounter with a payer attached. Select the Insurance tab. In the Encounter Insurance section, select the payer. In the Verification section, select open record . Add Insurance Verification Information to an Encounter

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. Select the Encounters tab, and then select an encounter from the Encounters list, and then select the Insurance tab. Select the open menu icon next to Encounter Insurance, and then select New. In the Encounter Insurance Selection window, select the necessary payer, and then select OK. The insurance information is added. To add additional insurance information, select a payer attached encounter from the Encounters list, and then select an insurance from the Insurance list.
