Viewing Financial Information

Viewing Financial Information Viewing Financial Information You can view the patient's financial history by selecting the Financial tab of the patient chart. The Financial tab lists all the encounters that are associated with the patient and provides details of the payments received according to the primary, secondary, or tertiary insurances. Double-click an encounter in the list to expand the view to the charge level. Create Quicknotes

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup . The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Clinical History/Notes tab. The Clinical History/Notes window opens displaying Topics and Description. Under the Topics section, select the category to attach the note and then right-click in the Descriptions section and select Quicknote. The Quicknote window opens. Enter a subject for the note. Select a description for the user note from the User Note Description list. Note: User Note Descriptions are automatically filled text items that you can select when you create a note. Enter a description for the note in Note Entry. Select OK. Note: NextGen® Enterprise PM timestamps the create date, author of the note, and any

Creating Patient Notes

You can view a note in the Clinical History/Notes tab. You can create a patient note to record a patient's formal and informal information. You can create a formal note to be stored with the medical chart through your notepad or word processor. Notes created externally from NextGen® Enterprise PM remain in their native format, stored on the database, and attached to the chart. You can designate a chart note as non-printable. Non-printable notes can be changed to printable only by the creator of the note or an administrator. You can also create a quicknote from within NextGen® Enterprise PM. A quicknote is part of the application and is ideal for short notes. A Quicknote is effective for getting data quickly and making it easily accessible on-line. Patient Encounters and Financial History Patient Encounters and Financial History This section provides information on encounters and the financial history associated with an encounter. Viewing Financial Information You can view a patient's financial history, encounters, and payments in the Financial tab of the patient chart. Viewing Clinical History and Notes Information You can use the Clinical History/Notes tab to view encounter and chart related information. Viewing General Information in Encounters You can use the General tab under Encounters to view detailed information for a selected encounter. Open Claim Status Report from Clinical History/Notes

Before you begin Submit a claim status request for the encounter. In theClinical History/Notes tab, Chart Notes > Claim Status Result under Topics list displays the list of claim requests submitted for the encounter. You can open and view the claim status report. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, open the Patient Chart and select the Clinical History/Notes tab. From Topics, select Claims Status Result located under Chart Notes. The Details pane displays the claim status results attached to the patient. Right-click the desired encounter or claim number and select Open. The Claim Status report opens displaying the following: Claim status response date and time. Statistical view of the claim status (accepted or rejected), bill amount, and paid amount. Collapsed view of the claim status requested for the encounter. Note: To view the detailed report of the claim status, select and expand the claim. Parent topic: Claim Status
