The First Third Available Appointment report helps a practice identify the average number of days a patient must wait to see a resource for a specific type of appointment. The third next available appointment is used instead of the next available appointment because it is a more realistic depiction of how many days a patient would have to wait to see a provider. A measurement of only the next available appointment can easily be changed due to cancelations or other unexpected events.
The settings you choose in Practice Preferences and Scheduling Administration determine the next third available appointment for the desired combination of patient, resource, and event.
To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Scheduling and then select First Third Available.
