First Third Available Report Columns

The following columns are available on the First Third Available report: Column Name Description Data Populates From Res Name Resource Name The resource for which you want to look up first third available appointments. Location SubGrp1 Location SubGroup1 Optional user-defined report filter that is set up in Enterprise Preferences, on the General tab. Location SubGrp2 Location SubGroup2 Optional user-defined report filter that is set up in Enterprise Preferences, on the General tab. Run the First Third Available Appointment Report

The First Third Available Appointment report has columns and filters that you can use to customize the report data and format. CAUTION: Running the First Third Available Appointment report puts a heavy strain on the database and could reduce the responsiveness in NextGen® Enterprise PM. NextGen Healthcare recommends that you run this report after business hours. Select the Reports > Scheduling > First Third Available. The report filter for the First Third Available Appointment report appears. Select the columns that you want to display in the report. Select Events in the Settings list and then select the Open Record button to access the Events window. Use the blue arrow buttons to move the resources from the Available to the Included list and then select OK. First Third Available Report

The First Third Available Appointment report helps a practice identify the average number of days a patient must wait to see a resource for a specific type of appointment. The third next available appointment is used instead of the next available appointment because it is a more realistic depiction of how many days a patient would have to wait to see a provider. A measurement of only the next available appointment can easily be changed due to cancelations or other unexpected events. The settings you choose in Practice Preferences and Scheduling Administration determine the next third available appointment for the desired combination of patient, resource, and event. To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select Scheduling and then select First Third Available. Scheduling Reports

The Scheduling reports category includes various reports that you can use to review appointment information for patients in your practice. The reports can help you monitor and manage appointments and assist with your internal scheduling processes in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Appointment Search Ahead

In NextGen® Enterprise PM while scheduling an appointment, you can use the Appointment Search Ahead feature to find the available timeslots for a specific event, location, and resource. For example, a patient wants to book an appointment for a physical exam at the main office location with Dr. Smith. The patient wants the appointment within the next three weeks and preferably on a Tuesday or Thursday morning. You can enter these criteria on the Appointment Search Ahead window to find the available time slots that meet the patient's request. When searching for available timeslots, you can use any of the following combinations in your search: One event, one service location, one resource One event, one service location, multiple resources One event, one service location, one class One event, multiple service locations, one resource One event, multiple service locations, multiple resources One event, multiple service locations, one class Note: You cannot select both a class and a resource

Document Doctor Visits

You can document doctor visits by type. For ease of use, you can configure appointment locations on the Card Setup Appt Locations practice template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click the Cardiac Orders panel. Click Doctor Visits. The Doctor Visits template opens. Doctor Visits In Type, select a type you want to document. Note: The NGShare option is available only for those providers who have enrolled in NextGen® Share. You can select the NGShare option to access the Referrals Order template. To select an ordering physician from the resulting list, click the Ordered by field. To select an appropriate reason for the visit, click the Reason field. To select a location, click the Location field. To document a time for the order, do one of the following. To select an option for an appointment, click the When field. To select a scheduled appointment, click Appt. Select a diagnosis in the grid to associate it with the order. Click Add and then click Do
